On the terraces last night it was the hot topic - "They should bring in Webster"



What, if anything is actually preventing Hull FC from doing this?

Salary cap? Quota? The fact that he probably wouldn't make that much difference?



He would probably have improved our kicking game last night, but he wouldn't have prevented us from missing 20-odd tackles and only completing just over half of our sets. Lack of half backs is not helping matters, but the problems last night were much more profound.

Following the Catalans game and Long's injury, Richard Agar said regarding Webster playing:

And Widnes still hold his playing registration ,,,,,just to make sure he cant play for anyone else without a fee being paid !!!!!!

How does that work? A club can hold a players registration when they are not his employer? Bizarre.

I for one wouldn't be at all suprised if Webster did play on Thursday.

I seriously hope he does play after last night's debacle.We badly need some leadership out on the field.

I don't know why people think Webster is going to be the answer. He hasn't played for ages and hasn't played SL for much longer. Add to that the fact that he was never what you would call a brilliant half back anyway, and it seems fairly clear that playing him will make little difference to our predicament.

Whilst he's never been the most gifted half back to play the game; he is a great leader and IMO you need that on the pitch.

We've got leaders. Fitzgibbon for example - thats not the problem.

salary cap you can get round by giving him a pay as you play contract or something like radlinski had at wigan were he plays for nothing but still gets his coaching pay packet....as for quota ..has he not got a british passport... thats why he was waiting around to play last time wasnt it??

If he plays his salary goes on the the cap for the rest of the season.
