Indeed. And rightly so to have those kind of contracts in those days.
Terry Crook talked about it on his Trinity Heritage Podcast.
Think he said he got away with a better contract because they mistakenly kept him on an AN Other contract when he made it to reserves and first team.
Said he played a couple of years with only a verbal contract I think.
Contracts just weren't thought about in those days like they are now.
