Yes we would of all prefered to stay up but does it really effect our ambitions? Yes I think it certainly makes it harder but if we have the same team next year as we were going to have in the Championship then what is stopping us winning the NRC?? Secondly when we come back up next year just like Dewsbury imagine the momentum in 2011 when a resurgent NR Cup holders Leigh top the Championship in the summer of 2011. How can the RFL deny us a franchise in 2 years time?



With local derbies against Rochdale, Oldham and Swinton. Away days at Blackpool and hopefully an away tie against the Skolars on the Cup final weekend next year could just be an enjoyable year?



Enjoy the season Leythers, you just never know the RFL could change the rules and not relegate us then again I could just be dreaming!

We should stand up take what we have got and get behind the lads next season we should take the league by storm ,it wont be Leigh if we did not do things the hard way.

But dont hold your breathe they may have been waiting to see how it all panned out before they move the posts again

I don't think anyone is going up in 2012 except Widnes and maybe Toulouse if they get their act together so being relegated today won't affect your long term SL ambitions which were really only realistic for 2015 anyway. 2012 is always going to be Widnes and Toulouse.

We're miles away from SL and today makes very little difference to that fact IMO. We should be focussing on being the best we can be outside of SL. Until we get 4-5,000 through the gates every home game then we can forget it.



At least the club can now look to rebuild itself. Get rid of the deadwood. Get back to winning ways. Get more fans through the turnstyles. Make the most of the many people playing RL in Leigh.

Why do people get hung up on saying we need 5k gates? Only one club in the history of the sport has ever got any where near that average gate figure outside the top flight!

Good attitudes there fellas. I know exactly how you feel - same thing happened to us in the 90's (relegation from the 2nd tier), but we were saved when they re-merged the leagues. Can't see that happening this time and I hope that all of the fans stick with the team next year. As pointed out, walking away with the league and a good NRC run could help get the feel good factor back up and running.



If you can get the people through the gate next year then you'll get back up with a chance of SL. If the fans stay away, then you could end up in a much worse place than you are now.

I'm looking forward too seeing old friends, be good I think!!
