| Reading the rugby league news today it seems that Wakey are suffering a winger shortage.
With Damien Blanch out for the season and 2 other wingers, Murphy ( dislocated shoulder ) and Matt Peterson, out for at least another couple of weeks would it be a good decision by Warringtonto allow him to go out on loan to another SL club, if asked.
Bradford decided it was a good idea by letting Halley go to Wakefield earlier in the season rather than leaving him for months in the reserves.
Wigan also have allowed Goulding to go to Salford ( although freeing up some salary space may also have had a bearing on this decision)
I think that it would be a good move for Penny. He certainly cannot be developing fully as a player in the academy week in week out. Let him go to another club for a couple of months, let him make mistakes at another club but then hopefully he will learn from them without being in the pressurised environment at Warrington where he is still believed by some to be the greatest find of the past 30 years.
It could just be the making of him as a player.

| Yes we should let him out on loan IF we don't intend to play him, but would it be better if he went to a NL1 club?
Penny could go two ways. Either he will one day be a major star of SL or he will be on the RL scrapheap and working in a dead end job at somewhere like Total Fitness.

| Kear would be a very good coach for him to develop. Plus its a chance for him to shine in a Super League club.
Should actively seek to give players further chances in other teams, if it will help them develop.
See Scott Moore, Goulding et all.

Why would that be a dead end job?

| Watching the reserves on Saturday I thought the same thing about Penny. Time out on loan to another club would help him develop. Playing in the reserves certainly isn't going to help him much as the standard is so much lower than SL.

| At the risk of Mark shooting me with a double barrelled shotgun for this:
I believe Penny isn't up to SL level yet (Tony Smith obviously believes the same thing) and I think if he went on loan to Wakey, or any other SL club, it'd just make it more obvious to everyone.
I firmly believe that if he were to go on loan, it should be to someone in the Championship. Widnes for example. Players aren't bubble wrapped as much as they are in SL and he'd learn a more physical game and come back a hell of a lot stronger, both physically and mentally.

| [size=200yes[/sizeSend him out asap .Lets face it if he was not born in Warrington nobody would want him here as he has not got any rugby talent bar a little pace and he has been chased down a few times so he isn't the fastest either release him I say !
