I suspect this is a ploy to rid Salford supporters from the stadium. If we all need credit checks to be accepted into the ground, plenty will be denied.

of course MBNA do a Salford Reds credit card, I know because I have one - all spending on it gets a percentage to the club.

So, just perhaps, this could be a good thing for both clubs?

We won't see a bean of the sponsorship money, of that I'm certain. The sale factor has already started, they have been given rights to sell the Stadium name, this is only the start. I can't wait to hear what the 'it's a positive move' brigade have to say.



We will see more and more things move into the control of Sale in the very near future.

To be honest, if it was that wouldn't be so bad - a bit like "Bass Headingley", where nobody used the Bass bit. MBNA may even feel inclined to chuck some cash our way - but until there was any confirmation of anything like that I'd consider the whole thing a bad development. How long until we're standing in the Cotton Traders South Stand?
