Lots of perfectly reasonable stuff on another thread about the team and McNamara, but for me the worst thing on show last night was Jefferies. What does he offer us? Poor kicking, poor decision making and astonishingly bad passing behind a dominant pack going forward. I lost count of the number of times that he wasted overlaps in the first half near their line by not releasing the ball quickly or else hurled the ball behind players or so far above their heads that they had to jump to catch the ball and all momentum was lost. He's an opposition defensive coach's dream.



If Deacon gets injured this season we are absolutely lost.

I have to agree, he is not a player we can look to if things aren't going our way.



The Greg Bird deal falling through was a hammer blow, whilst he can't win games on his own, he would at least have offered some danger to our side. It is going to be a long year with Jeffries and Deacon as our playmakers.

TBH Jeffries was inconsistent at best at Wakey and I had hoped he would really just provide "cover". It seems now thought that we've got into a situation where he's expected to be the main creative halfback.



Losing out on Bird is a blow but we shouldn't have got oursleves into this position. To go into a season with only two halfbacks is madness.



I don't rate Chris Thorman that highly but he was available and would've at least given us some cover and competition for places. As it is Deacon and Jeffries can play poor every week yet there is nobody around to take their place.

I totally agree, when we signed him I thought he would never be able to make the cut, now he's playing week in, week out. This shows how weak we are becoming.

Even with Deacon your season will not be what you are expecting it to be. I think you fans need to realise you are not the force you once used to be.
