Isn't it about time that spitting was deemed to be a criminal offence rather than a civil offence?



Immigrants from countries where TB is still widespread do bring it into the UK which is why it is now rising again. It is spread through sneezing and coughing as this creates a fine mist which other people can breathe in.



If you now look at the TB hot spots, they all have 1 thing in common, high population of immigrants, who spit on the floor non stop.



This is a public health hazard - if you defecate or urinate in public it is a criminal offence. Why not apply the same criteria to spitting?

Have you got any statistics or proof to back up your theory because you sound pretty xenophobic to me. I don't care for spitting in public places personally, but I haven't witnessed any greater proportion to be non-English Caucasian - I assume that's what you mean. In our varied culture, I don't know how you can determine whether somebody is an immigrant just from looks.

There is only one tiny grain of truth in the original post but its not related to spitting, or immigration really.



23 years ago our <1 year old child developed a growth on her spine and during a two week spell in hospital we were all tested for TB, blood tests, x-rays etc - at that time TB had been eradicated in the UK for a generation at least (my father had it just after the war), when I expressed this to the consultant in charge of my daughter he explained that the human form of TB, in its several forms, was making a comeback in the UK and the explanation accepted by medical practitioners was not the influx of immigrants as such, but the second and third generations of immigrants from the Indian continent who were going to their parents and grandparents country's of origin for holidays and bringing it back with them - they of course being British citizens.



And the daughters condition cleared up nicely thank you without ever being diagnosed as anything other than a viral infection.

Now that seems like deriding the boy for maybe having homosexual tendencies. From one of the doyens of gay rights, transgender this and that, etc that sounds terribly non-PC if not closet homophobia.

Let's start with the opening statement . Why not go and spit at a copper and see if its a "civil" matter or assault and if you end up being charged with assaulting a police officer and rightly so.



The rest of your post all I can suggest is you must of done some rigorous testing to have the balls to come on a site like this and spout such bile.
