We rely heavily on away support. Even though you can throw a handkerchief over most of the 2012 clubs in our division, that won't be as good on Friday as it is on Sunday.



And we've never really attacked the crowd-building question. We should have done more two years ago instead of "hanging our hats" simply on moving to t'Lane. I said so at the time.

Teams like Halifax and Feath do swell the crowd and bring a lot of fans especially on a sunday,You'll be lucky to get more than a 100 followers from the other teams especially on a friday,I think the crowds will go down,Even if it was free admission i dont think crowds would drastically go up,You either like rugby league or you don't,A lot of people in Sheffield don't and arnt even willing to try it,You need a dramatic increase of fans who need to go regulary to get a chance for super league,Your looking at needing a good thousand extra fans,In the real world you'll be lucky to find 100 new fans in one season.

The trouble with free admission is that you build a following of people who can't/won't pay. Which then alienates the people who do pay.

I wouldnt let anyone in for free,Was just saying even if it was,it wouldnt guarantee major increase in attendance as they have to be interested in the game.Its a football city and i dont think it will ever change from that.On another instance why do Ice hockey get 5k regular,charge more but Sheffield has also not been renown for ice hockey,Is it because its warm and indoors?

Wednesday v United is the same day as Donny away in the NRC and I believe plans are already underway to push ko time back. That day could be absolute carnage.

Why will both of them be happy to amend their kick off time so that they do not clash with the rugby?
