| Quote Seventies red="Seventies red"There are some people that really make me angry and you one of them.
I've heard some absolute garbage spoken in my time but yours is almost off the scale.
To suggest that most pensioners are minted is an absolute insult to a generation that worked their socks of for forty five years before they could even get a pension, a paltry 113.00 per week state pension, people who work now only need to work 35 years to receive a full state pension which is due to rise 1n 2016 to about around 155.00 , though current pensioners will not be entitled to it
Also, most of that generation didn't get the welfare handouts that they get now i.e. generous family allowances, child care etc, etc.
My father who started off on the shop floor before working his way up to be a manager for the last ten years of his employment, retired after 44 years of company service on a final pension of about 160.00 net per week, i would hardly call that minted, he was also one of the lucky ones, as many employees never even received final salary pensions at all, they have to currently rely on a paltry 113.00 per week, one of the worst state pensions in Europe.
So, before you go stereotyping every pensioner as minted you should first go and learn a few facts and see the reality which is.... although there are are a lucky few over 65s who came out with good final salary pensions they are not in the majority by any means.
Its also worth remembering that there are still quite a few pensioners in their late 80s who fought in the last great war, don't you think they deserve a little help here and there e
Just remember, you'll be old one day, i wonder if your sentiments will be the same then , i doubt it somehow.

The cost for an oap of £19 is an absolute disgrace and no wonder it provokes people into the above response when it obviously and deservedly hits a nerve from flippent comments about pensioners.
Joined up here a few weeks ago as a long term follower, player and coach of RL and thought it would be good to share some views and maybe get some info on whats going on with HKR and rugby in general. I was naive enough to think that most people on the site would be of the same opinion, maybe they are but tbh every thread gets taken over by someone whos only intention is to point score or provoke someone into an argument. This will be me last contribution as i cant be bothered to look through streams of bilge to find some actual content about what the original thread was about.I wonder how many other like minded people have come and gone the same way as me. Shame really.

The fact you know its £19 for an oap ticket suggests you have trawled through the bilge to find what the thread is about.

In comparison to your "hilarious" Rolf Harris material it indeed was. I expect I will get a Perrier award sooner than you.
