Frame was a very good player, massive work rate from him and was probably our most consistent player through the SL era for us. Up there with Relfy in terms of a tough no nonsense type of player.





Anyway.................getting back to Varks, he was initially going about the tackle in a very illegal way but then dropped the player to the ground on his back 'softly' i would put it. Campbell then played the old 'dead man' on the floor for a couple of minutes until the ref put the incident on report. Then praise the lord he got up faster than littlerich in an Abi Titmuss porn show.

I watched Varks for two years at Fax and he NEVER engaged in any dirty play. He was a real honest player and wasn't interested in cheap biff. That said, what he did on Sunday was an absolute disgrace. I wasn't there and didn't see the incident but it looked bloody awful. We can't tolerate people like this in the game.

Things are a lot clearer now. I have diagnosed your condition. At first I was puzzled but then it became clear you literally take everyone for their absolute word. When I said that Varks put him down like a sleeping baby you actually believed that through some sort of act of transmogrification Campbell actually became a sleeping baby and the pitch appeared before all our eyes as the base of a pram.

As for you missing the clutching of his neck... you have never seen a biased report on your website. I have shown you one. You now seem to be backing down from the fact that Varkulis tackled Campbell in a WWF type tackle. It appears that you are conceding ground all over the place and your powers of observation are shaky at best.

As for arguing that Campbell wasn't faking an injury he was merely feigning one....





Terrific. Absolutely terrific. You are right, these are poles apart. Faking or feigning it still means he was pretending to be injured when he wasn't and that has the sole purpose of cheating. The reason that everyone booed Campbell is because more than 2,000 people watched the incident and were disgusted with the play acting of Campbell in an attempt to have Varkulis sent off. He didn't tell me personally that he wasn't injured but Ronaldo never told everyone in the world that he wasn't injured when he used to hit the deck and yet people someone strangely knew. Mainly because of the type of tackle and the players immediate reaction following the incident.

I respect the opinion of my fellow fan who said that he was put down a little more roughly than I suggested. I was sat in the North Stand on the half way line so was near to the incident but it's interesting that he claims the player was not injured in anyway!! So here is a person whose opinion you trust and yet he is another person who believes he was faking it and acknowledges that Varkulis shifted the player so as not to drop him on his head and cause him harm.

As for the match reports I noticed that these have, for the vast majority, been removed from the site... presumably out of embarrassment. The fact remains. You said I wouldn't find one.. I found one straight away. You made a challenge. I was a match for it.

This whole thread was you trying to argue that Varkulis dropped Campbell on his head and that Campbell did not fake his injury. Looks fairly conclusive that I have the support on this one. Forgive me for no longer wishing to enter into your petulant little world.

I can't believe any of you are defending what was a horrendous tackle.. He should have walked there and then for it.. Put down softly? Your'e having a laugh he dropped him!!! He should at least get a match ban for that.. JC was not badly injured but was winded... Even Paul Cullen was disgusted and apologised across to Joe Berry on the touchline about it...

After having looked at the video, absolutely no way was Campbell put down on his head. Varks grabbed him initially around his middle and lifted, then Campbell appears to 'curl up into a ball' and then extends his legs once he is in the air, this gives the image of Varks with him sort of over his shoulder, however, he then puts him to the floor in a way no worse than many tackles I've seen. I'm not saying it was legal as he was clearly lifted past the horizontal, but I think Campbells own efforts contributed to this, but I also think he milked the situation for all it was worth. Watched at normal speed it does look suspicious, however in slo-mo it becomes clear it was not malicious IMO.

I think everyone, including our coach, has fairly condemned the tackle as a bad one. There is no doubt that he should be up in front of the panel for them to look at.

I do think though that as you suggested it is important to look at the way that Varks dealt with a potentially dangerous situation (that he had put himself and the other player in).
