If we could get Satae, Pryce,  Batchelor (saw his name mentioned yesterday), Cross/Wrench/Halsall/Wood and an overseas backrower.

Would the salary cap stretch to that?

I heard we had 270k left before Staveley went, add in Sao, Lane and Briscoe. That's probably over 500k. Could have one of those (UK players) on a marquee contract too.

Halfback could be dependant on how Charles and Kemp go this year. With Bourouh, Balmforth and Hutchinson we have a young hooking trio so hopefully Cust won't be needed there and with him only being 26 he could be here a fews years yet alongside one of the younger fellas.

Hopefully JC is just being polite about Sao. We should not be keeping him, been poor/ill disciplined for 2 seasons and now injured for a 3rd season. Needed a good season to be considering a deal. Let him go, let someone else take the risk and get fresh faces in.

Sam Eseh has joined on loan until the end of the season.

I don't think Eseh is good enough for Wigan's pack (certainly not at present), they're absolutely stacked in the forwards, so hopefully he goes really well for us and we could pursue the option of making it permanent. Though if they're losing Byrne next season they may be keen on keeping him

I don't mid Eseh and glad it is for the year, gives us the chance to have a look at him and could be  long term signing and replacement for Sao.

Still concerns me that we will now have 6 props for the Leigh game and one backrower.

Feel like Knight isn't needed, but him signing might be more to do with the quality available rather than position.

Worries me the coaching staff keep playing Fash in the backrow.

Seems the clubs plans on recruitment are based on the long term, so it could also be that they already have irons in the fire so to speak that cover the back row from 2026 onwards, which may make any interim signings more difficult unless they were loans.

Being honest we took a punt on Savelio with his injury record and Jones the least said the better, we moved Griff to 2nd row and he out performed our 'seasoned' 2nd rowers before Smith pretty much dumped him.

In an ideal world we could have signed Eseh and Watts to bolster our front row and used the quota spot on either a second row or a centre.

Each time he left a club he had issues with the coach at the time. 

Personally rather go with Knight and Eseh, if they go well then maybe look to tie them down long term. Whereas with Watts would we get more than a year out of him at this stage of his career?

Can see the appeal as we still need size up front. But he's not what he was. I'd pass.

Wonder if Cartwright has seen enough of our depth options in thr middle already. Knight, Eseh and potentially Watts in a week
