| Quote Big Dave T="Big Dave T"Ive said it all along and still believe it, whether anyone else does or not.
Full backs - R Horne and Motu not many better than either of these.
Wingers - Calderwood, Raynor and Briscoe all pretty good given the right service
Centres - Yeaman is class given the service, other spot is debatable.
Stand off - R Horne or Washy - we struggle in the halves
Scrum half - Thorman - worst 7 in the top 8 currently.
Props - match for any side in the league with Cusack, Dowes, Radford, Thacks, Maloney, Moa etc Can all lay the platform.
Hookers - Berro, Lee and Houghton, not many better in SL.
Second rows - Tickle, Manu and Burnett - do as good a job as anyone else in SL.
Loose Forward - Washy, top 3 or 4 in SL.
Only thing stopping the players above being top 2 or 3 is the way that they go out there as a team and play. imo!'"
The highlighted is where I feel our squad falls well short of the required standard to be top 4. We also lack real impact at prop, although Lauaki should address that (and Moa if he gets fit enough).
And of course the coaching is sub-standard.
At the start of the season I had us down as finishing somewhere between 7 and 9 in the table. I haven't seen anything to persuade me that will be far wrong TBH, although the tightness of the competition this season makes it difficult to be certain.

So after playing 5/6 teams out of 13 they're right to believe they're the 4th best (at least) team in the league despite a losing streak of 6 games? I'm glad Rovers players are coming out with this garbage...

| Quote j_hunter_hkr="j_hunter_hkr"It's not about having a settled side, it's about having a capable squad. We've had our share of injuries this year but dealt with it because of our squad. Take Scott Wheeldon for example, IMO our best prop in the past 5 games but he wouldn't have got a chance if Vella, Fozzard and Lovegrove were all fit.
Hull FC have no right to be in the top 4 but the players seem to think they do (there was a similar article with Houghton a few weeks ago). That (as well as having a poor squad) is part of the problem, in my unbiased opinion...'"

Would you rather Thorman say? You have to aim high and the players are doing exactly that.
Morgan reckons Rovers can win the GF, Dobson reckons Rovers can win the CC. Are you not going to have a go about their comments?

| Come on ,any FC fan or general League fan who can read and has watched the game for a few years can see that Hull's squad and coaching team are , as they stand , way off being good enough to challenge for anything this year despite the way the table is shaping up. SL has gone backwards in terms of quality this year but still only a few teams have squads that are capable of sustaining performances that will win enough games to challenge for silverware. It pains me to say it but KR are probably one of them , with Sts , Leeds and Wigan being the others. Wire could be very good but they just never seem to gel and Wakey are a credit to all involved with them. Our squad man for man though against most teams in SL is probably only equal to the likes of Wakey and Salford and we as fans and perhaps the players seem to have unrealistic expectations , not aspiration but expectations ,way above that. Until we start to play with the enthusiasm required of an ordinary team or until the club make more astute signings then we will continue to have more of the same. James Rule said on KCFM that we generally get the players we go for. I think if that's the case notwithstanding the Crocker situation then the choices made by the people responsible look very questionable.

Yup, the biggest problem is that any chain is only as strong as it's weakest links, the FC chain has a failed SL head coach and a clueless former assistant at the helm, we don't need to look much further than that for the answers.

Spot on !!! I'm sick of listening to JR telling us that we make great signings, we have a quality squad, it's only injuries that prevent us from being up there blah..blah blah..
Just a quick glance at our squad will tell you that we have some quality in there but we also have way too much mediocrity. Our squad is capable of competing for a play-off place because the current SL table is very tight but if the end-of-season SL table were to reflect the overall quality of each individual squad and the abilities of the coaches, we would certainly be below halfway.
I agree about either making the quality signings required of a top two side or accepting our mediorcity and playing accordingly with enthusiasm and a relevant gameplan.

| So in a nutshell Chris Thorman should not have said what he did in the HDM then?

No, but spreading negativity to not only the players, but to all the fans is hardly going to help is it?
Thorman has stated a positive and confident message, and I dont know about you but that's what I want to read about!
