I don't think Agar will do that, the point with Long is not to save him for the Leeds game but whether or not the Wire game is a week too soon for his injury, that should be the main concern.

Ultimately if Long is ready he'll play, if not he wont be risked. Doesnt matter who the opposition is.

Correct and the I think the Wire game might be too soon, he was back in the gym last week and is one week enough? If there is a risk then he might aswell get some more training in and be ready for Leeds and the playoffs.

I'd make sure he's 100%,we'll need him for the play offs.

He needs at least 1 or 2 games under his belt for match sharpness before the playoffs if he's fit.

So is the whole of St Helens really though. Id love to have longy back but would rather have him 110% for Leeds and hopefully the rest of the play off's.

The question was something around playing the 2 CC finalists the week before and the week after the final. He said that he didn't think the week before the final was a particular factor but that the week after is a massively difficult game as we've found out in recent years. He wasn't suggesting that the wire game wasn't winnable, just that it wasn't any easier than it would be any other week, whereas he intimated the leeds game was a big ask for leeds.



FWIW, I think we should go out early at wire and bang a few heads and make them start to worry about getting injured and hopefully may make them back off a bit. It's what basil did to us in 2005 when he brought wigan to the KC the week before the final
