Isn't that a waste of a highly paid quota player? If that's his future at the club we might as well get rid and spend the money elsewhere.

Me neither, he has done well for us although some people's expectations were higher than they should have been. What I would say is that if an NRL club wanted him then I would release him and use his big salary to sign an overseas centre and just sign a british player to play hooker with Houghton.

I see it as a very, very achievable possibility....and let us not forget Ftiz and Orgre both believe he is good enough to cut the mustard in NRL....a very under ratted prospect is young Danny

We would need two hookers, Houghton and most other hookers could do the 80 minutes but why bother? You must have two hookers in modern day RL and Houghton would need cover from the bench.

Not interested in how much they get paid, more interested in how they perform...if some kid is on 25k and does a better job on the pitch he is in over a 125k player for me.

Could it be an option for FC to strike up a link with the NRL and loan some of our top youngsters out there for 12 months for development?



Would be massively beneficial long term to get Houghton signed on a 5 year contract but loan him to the NRL for a season.
