although swinging punches is never a good idea, Bailey should have gone as well. a bigger tragedy was that Ian Smith managed to bring the entire English game into disrepute with his absolutely appalling display. not just him, but the linesmen as well (not that they ever actually do anything) were a disgrace. not that the RFL cares what I think but I don't think any of them should be employed as referees.
