Can't believe that guy thought they'd found him a permanent job. Just a scam to keep him in employment long enough (4 weeks?) to get a government bonus which was no doubt being split between A4e and Continental Landscapes. Must be a conveyor belt. £700 million p!$$£d up against the wall by the government there - well done.

I have never cringed as much as i did when i was watching the Chairman/woman of A4E being interviewed. How this woman secured a 700 000 000 contract via the government is shocking.

Id give that Sherelle a job tho!

Why were people reading the SUN and the STAR, not many Jobs advertised in these publications.



The A4E chairman could not give an answer when the producer, told her the jobs her staff was finding was short term agency work, and many who take this work end up back on benefits after 4 weeks, but by this time she's gained her government bonus and another job seeker.

I was made redundant in feb of this year after working as a design engineer in several companies for the past 7 yrs. I've got a b/eng in mech engineering, working towards chartership and was due to start my masters in 2010. I've taken qualifications in pneumatics and hydraulics, have 7 a'levels A-C and 12 GCSE'S. Unfortunately the market is swamped with engineers, with firms closing weekly. My partner works fulltime which pays the bills and keeps the car on the road.



I went to an advanced job search at the request of the job centre a couple of weeks ago where I was told that my job seekers allowance would end in the first week of november, as thats when my contributions ran out. I was then offered some part time employment at mitie cleaners and told that if I wanted to, I could also take a GCSE in english and maths (just to bump my grades up. I have A's in these subjects at A level).



The long and short of it is that the job centre is a farce. The courses that they offer are a farce, and some of the people that work there, are a farce. The sooner it stops being all about the figures and more about the people, the better. If wasters dont want to work, then dont make them. Just dont dont pay them.



As it is I've voluntarily come off job seekers. Fed up of being raped of my dignity every second monday.

When staff have to meet targets the welfare of the clients doesn't matter.
