dissapointed to lose, salford are no mugs and deserved to win, we only played for half a match, you can't blame gentle for losing the ball in the scrum when you have head and feed, which cost us the game leveling try, plus a 4 on 2 overlap at the second to last play that turner ignored, most of the game we played dumb rugby!

Dumb players do dumb things. Turner isn't good enough and, hopefully, is playing his last season in a Hull shirt. I hope a few others will be joining him as well, if we want to compete with the best of course.

who would you like to see follow him?

i can see turner going, plus many whose contracts are up at the end of 2012, gentle will want his own players not players a past coach has signed or was allowed to sign!

horne has another year and to be fair to aspinwall he has played well

Aspinwall has done alright yes but do we really need him or want him as a "top 4 team" ? I would say "NO"



As for Tony Martin improving our right hand side, please......we have zero attacking threat there now, probably less than before (apart from Seymour playing there).

right hand side, like our search for a decent 7, has been a problem since barnett left the club, hopefully gentle will see this position as a priority and sign a quality centre we badly need, martin and sharp couldn't punch a hole through a paper bag tonight!

Martin/Sharp is a very average right hand side. We have too many average things in our squad, like our stand off, our lack of a right hand side and an embarrassing lack of depth in the forwards.

Tbh, I think tonight it showed we havent got a big enough pack. salford attacked down the middle constantly and knackered our props

Goodness, not this again. Sometimes in sport, you don't get to beat every team you beat the season before. It happens. Yes, it's a poor result, but to hold it up as an indicator of our overall progress is simply barmy.



We're three games into a season that we all knew was going to be one of building for the future, rather than winning things. We only had two recognised props, and we played poorly. There will always be hiccups at the stage we're at, but getting all y about it so early in the piece won't help anyone.



From Gentle's post-match comments, he's under no illusions about the work that is needed to improve things. Last year we'd have had a string of excuses and transparent positive spin. At this juncture I'm prepared to accept that he knows what he's doing and give him the time to do it without getting all hot under the collar about every dodgy result.
