Thinking of getting a new laptop and was thinking which is best and which is rubbish

I have used 'ACER' with no problems.

Depends what you want to be able to do, do you really need the portability of a laptop, do you want it to play games on, or to view the net etc.



If you can give some idea of what you'll use it most for then I am sure we can point you in the right (and inexpensive) direction.

And does it have to be a laptop, as you'll get much more for your money with a desktop, especially for a gaming machine.

Best value at present is with Dell all round i believe, we have two Dell PCs etc in the house, great kit, great back up and service cant go wrong..

Get a Macbook, I got "converted" two years ago and I've not looked back, I'm running Office and all the standard Microsoft stuff, plus it still (much to my amazement) runs as fast as the day it was bought, not like a Windows PC/Laptop in the slightest.



Also, I just run free virus software as you really don't need any over the top protection as the hacking market for Mac's only represents between 5 and 10 % of total machines, apparently if your going to hack its pointless making stuff that can only shut down "5% of the worldwide market".
