Agree with quite a bit of that. I have sympathy for the Salford fans, players and staff but not those in charge at Salford. They are the ones that have largely led Salford to this position and in some cases are actively making a choice to do things in a certain way such as the team selection last week. Yes, the RFL are also to blame (I think the sustainability cap in particular is stupid when they are still paying the players regardless) but Salford seemingly chose to make some kind of point here which has largely backfired. Throughout all this, the Salford board seem to have just ploughed ahead in doing what they want rather than what was potentially necessary.
To be honest, that squad selection did surprise me though. I was half expecting them to name a squad that ignored the sustainability cap altogether.
QuoteThe Dentist Wilf="The Dentist Wilf"pretty good explanation of what's happened at Salford here.

A lot of people were saying how St Helens got an unfair advantage with Salford's situation in round 1. I'm starting to think they would have posted a large score anyway
Looks like I made the right decision to call it a night at half time.
Matt Shaw tweeting players haven't been paid today when they were all expecting to. Something to do with money coming from abroad so has to go through more checks and is therefore delayed. Just seems to be a mess this whole takeover business. Looked like a group of players out there tonight who just weren't happy and really couldn't give a if they lost or not, and as Hull fans we know exactly what that looks like.

Salford certainly look miles away from the team they’ve been in recent years. Looked to be very little togetherness and a fair bit of frustration between team mates.
They just don’t look prepared and I actually thought they looked rather like we did last year.
Not sure the lack of wages payment had any affect tonight if the reason given for delay is genuine.
