I make no apologies for that sentiment - I'm afraid I reserve the same amount of humanity for the woman as she demonstrated during her sustained attempt to destroy the working classes.

A wrong from the past is still a wrong, she is an evil old witch that looked after her own and left the rest to rot.

That is you opinion and you are entitled to it. However, what she did do was allow people to buy their council houses at massively reduced rates this then got people on the property ladder and gave them capital and also allowed to people to then take out loans and other such things due to being a homeowner. Many of the people who bought their council houses have since sold them at a huge profit and this has allowed them an improved quality of life.



I think that claiming she left people to rot is an unfair stereotype of her.

One things for certain, if she was still "in" there wouldn't have been all this faffing about and red tape getting the stadium out of the ground.

Isn't there now a nationwide shortage of social housing because of this policy ?.

The houses that people bought didn't disappear though, they are still there so there would still have been a housing shortage and in fact an even greater social housing shortage had these people not bought theirs because they too would have still been living in social housing.

There is a shortage.

These houses disappeared from local council ownership.



The only people laughing now are the children of those people who bought there property at an absolutley,ridiculously low price,they are sitting on a small fortune when in reality that money should belong to the local tax payer.

Councils are now spending billions on rent to private landlords and on new build social housing.
