I wouldn't make a habit of agreeing with jonh, since it's likely to fuel his overbearing arrogance even further, but the above is about right for me.



Having said that - Bailey appears to have settled down a bit towards the back end of this season in terms of his housing and as a result, has probably played his best rugby for Leeds.



Overall, I'd say that hard is good whilst thuggery is just a distraction; Vella certainly falls into the former category for me.

The mind boggles, can't stand the sight of Vella but he's hard as nails and not a thug.

+1 all round for this, including the Bailey comment. Now that Coley is off the market I reckon Bailey should be in our sites - I know plenty would be up in arms if we did do but if we could get him back to either his early career form or his form of the last couple of months then we could be on a winner. Its just that middle 5 or 6 years we need to forget about.



As for Vella, has been a fantastic player and if he was 5 years ago he would be well worthy of a quota spot, but I think his best days are probably behind him and he has take the dignified exit of retiring whilst being close to his best.

You lot should know a thug when you see one going back to Ken Trail,Jack Wilkinson,Don Vines and the daddy of them all Derek Turner so Mick Vella doesnt come any wear near the thug category

Even if he's not available, his recent up-turn in form could help us in another way, in that he may well have earned a senior prop role at Leeds off the back of it, pushing Amor further down the pecking order, thus improving our chances of securing him for next season.

Amor would be a real positive. Still not convinced with Bailey if for no other reason than his housing is much more likely to get punished for us than Leeds as even in this poor season they spend more time on the front foot.

What is the point in this post. The comment has been pretty much shot down and you still feel the need to bring up players from nearly 50 years ago - give your head a shake.

When Bailey wants to be a RL player and not a yob he is as good as any prop in SL. I'd dare say he could make it in the NRL if he set his mind to it.

on his last visit to belle vue he was constantly committing offences, high shots and niggling in the tackle...another one that has little left to offer apart from that.

I can honestly say i've never seen a game where Bailey has not done something yobbish or just plain stupid. Everytime he gets tackled his arms are flying about (even worse than McGoldrick).



Even his own fans can't stand him.
