| Quote Gaslight="Gaslight"1. No he hasn't fallen out with Wests
2. No he isn't out for several weeks, he broke his thumb the other week and is back now, picking up 2 club MoM awards the last 2 weeks.
3. He's said his next contract will be another with Wests or with the club he supported as a kid...Cas.
He's already rejected Bradford and Wigan twice and would never play for either.
Worst rumour ever.'"

| Gareth intends to return to the UK and his dream is to be the captain of Wakefield and to lead the team out for the first game in the new stadium.

The same Gareth Ellis who stated after the Cas game in 2004 (Wakey won 42-10) when collecting the Sky MoM award how 'sweet' it was to beat Cas!

By and large, players say what the fans want to hear at the time. It's what they do!
He'd be a fool to leave the NRL to come back to us.

But, such a staunch Cas fan you wouldn't expect that comment would you?

| Was speaking to his dad at the world cup - his dad's a big Cas fan & suggested so was Gareth. His dad is a really decent bloke but didn't suggest any allegience to wakefield.

Not disputing that, just the 'fact' that if Gareth comes back from NRL it will be to play for Cas!

| If Gareth was coming back to England why on earth would he be signing for us or Bradford? Given that he is 1 of the very few world class English players I can only see him at Saints or Leeds. Now with a few more years on the clock he may fancy captaining Wakey, then when he gets really past it retirement at cas.

That is because Stuart Raper said he would never make it as an RL player when he was 16, which is why he said it was sweet.
It's also coincidently why he rejected Wigan the first time they offered for him (because Raper was the coach at the time).
The only way he would play for Wakefield again is if they broke the bank to sign him.

He is indeed enjoying his time over there, he loves the lifestyle and how the Rugby is played. He is just missing his family a bit, which could be where this rumour came from.
