The u20s played wigan today, winning 18-10 despite the best attempts of the referee. The penalty count finished 26-8 in Wigans favour with some very questionable decisions.



All in all, the boys played well and dug in despite circumstances. Well done.

who was the ref what a wally .looked like he had it in for wakey from the first minute .saw morrison talking as the players when for half time ,made no differance he still went on giving penenlty after penalty spoiled the game

Fantastic performance and really good match, appreciate James is a overage player but totally bossed it, looks tailor made for what we need in first team, Lillycrop also never took backward step. Very impressive. Only disappointing thing was very poor attendance, to say it is free in for members people are really missing out really adds to value of season ticket. Hope tomorrows match is as good.



On another matter i decided to ring the club this morning i travel from south Yorkshire so wanted to make sure that the match was definitely on before setting off. The female employee told me that the match was almost definitely on but took my phone number and promised to call should there be a change. Small thing i know but fantastic Customer Service the club have really turned it around.

Sounds like the lads played really well, but that penalty count is crazy.



Idiots like the ref today are just a sad reflection of the problems that our spoiling our game in general IMHO.

The trouble is cummins and his men think we pay to watch them and not the players. The sooner

we start to let the game flow and the players get on with it the better. The best refs are the ones you hardly notice.

To win a game when the penalty count is that skewed is unusual to say the least - the lads must have played our of their skins.

could not get to the game, great result, shame about the ref. Did Anakin play, he has been our best player in all the games I have watched so far and was brilliant in the 9`s. With only 8 games to go for the first team then surely to god we need to see him in first team action. Lets find out what he is made of.

I was there, the 20's should have won by a mile, both Wigan scores came from the ref piggybacking them up the field, although poor defence let the 2nd one in after their 4th penalty in a row (2 in our 10m)

The ref was shocking, the thing Glen was most mad about was an obvious chicken wing done right in front of the dugouts that the ref reversed the penalty (gave it to Wigan) due to our protest

and at half time when he tried to talk to the ref he just ignored him, thankfully one of the linesman seemed to know what he was doing and tried to put the ref right on a couple of occasions.

Morton played well as it Matt James Anakin and Lillycrop, wakey fullback looked good (Grayston?) John was playing well and on occasions he looked well above the level he was being asked to play as he was waiting for the attacking line, his kicking in play was excellent and our chase of the ball was superb.

We would have scored maybe 4 or 5 more tries if it hadn't been for the incompetence of the man in green.

The other thing that got my goat was the "Know-all" Wigan supporters that seemed to try justify all the decisions the ref made by quoting the rulebook

one saying "it's a simple game with simple rules" so as we were leaving I said to him "You're right it is a simple game with simple rules, you just need to simply score more than your opponents which we seemed to have done and you simply didn't" I good game that was spoilt by an idiot in the middle, Morro is doing a great job with them

I'm sorry, but at times I must sit and watch a totally differently game than some of the the "supposed" supporters of the U20's. Even though Lillycrop is a good runner, his defence needs working on especially when he jumps up out of the line and leaves gaps that are easily picked at by the opposition. James, well, thought he went missing and really didn't see him for long periods of the game, should have been outstanding against a young Wigan side. Anakin, good game, but not best I've seen him play.



Ryan Wright had an exceptional game, he really makes a difference when he comes onto the field both in attack and defence. Slater, again a solid show of defence and controlling the rook area, never stops working and a got a good try on the back of neat inside pass. Gledhill, outstanding, pipped it for me against James and Lillycrop at prop when he came on. Josh Hardcastle developing well at centre, solid attack and defence. Grayston, whilst a good fullback, should learn to keep his mouth shut against a ref who is obviously not going to give us any favours.



Yes, the lads pulled of an an exceptional show of not letting the poor referreeing decisions ruin their composure and discipline, but this could have been severely hampered by Morrison racing upto the referee at half time and could have jeapardised the penalty count even further against us. Poor show by a seasoned professional and a coach who is trying to gain respect from his players.



It was a good win by the U20's again, would rather pay my money any day to watch them than the poor defensive display and lack of attacking options shown today. When will Agar realise he has some good players in the reserves which he continually overlooks, instead he chooses to stick with same group of players which just aren't performing.
