this is probably a great steaming pile of BS but ive just been told Matt King to wigan next season!!! he also mentioned griffin but chances are that came from reading this topic!!

Agreed, the sort of quality I'd like to see us bring in, although he wouldn't be cheap I don't think. Surely if he leaves Wire he'll be going back to Oz?

Practically said he's off back to Aus in a recent interview. However, if he did sign, you can understand why both King and Wire would keep it quiet till the end of the season.



Regardles, whether it be King or someone else, if Carmont is to go, we need at once new centre signing. Joel, despite being a great player is showing how difficult it is to become a great centre.

I'm unsure about Joel as a centre, he seems to be settling into the role, but whether he could be successful in the long term i'm not sure. But replacing Carrmont will be the big issue, how do you replace a player of his quality, a real class act?

I spoke about Matt King with my mate who's a rugby league journalist at the end of the game tonight and he said he thinks he'll go back to Australia. I said that I wouldn't be hugely shocked if he wasn't loyal to Wire though and went to another superleague side though as he got a really rough time from the Wire fans in his first 12 months at the club and those memories may stick in his mind. When I mentioned that he said it jogged his memory of an interview he did with him not that long back when he said he wasn't overly complimentary of the Wire fans and said he seemed to hold back from praising them.



We'll see I suppose and being honest I think he will go back to Australia but theres nothing wrong with admitting he'd be a really good signing for us. We've always had this banter with the Wire fans that he's not as good as Carmont and in value for money terms he's not been but he's a cracking player and there wouldn't be many better replacements for Carmont then him.

King would probably be a lot cheaper than somebody of his standard from the NRL.

Matt King said he would be going home to Australia for family reasons at the end of his contract. This was in a radio interview around 2-3 weeks ago.

Hang about. On this basis, he certainly wouldn't want to come to Wigan. Wire fans weren't the only ones slagging him off.
