I'm a Wigan RL fan as well as a Latics fan and I don't find the animosity uncomfortable, I find the whole victim complex on both sides incredibly sad and immature. However at the same time if people make ludicrous statements like:

I can see that it's important to you to keep this pinned down to what's actually been said on this particular thread. That allows you to talk about tenuous links, etc. But the problem's a lot wider than that, as you're well aware even if you pesist in refusing to admit it.

I feel aggrieved when I see or hear Wigan RL being slated by Wigan folk who follow Latics. You apparently don't. I'm frustrated to then hear Wigan RL fans making excuses for them, or even being understanding about it. You apparently aren't.

bit of banter between fans is nothin to worry about. i've got plenty mates who follow latics. they give me a bit of stick and i give a bit back, but at the end of the day i don't give much of a toss about latics, and they don't give much of a toss about us, any pi$$ takin is just a laugh. when it gets as bitter and hateful as the guys on there and a few people on here, then it's just sad really. they have a relegation battle to worry about, and we have a team that looks like it has the potential to win something for the first time in years. we should both have better things to talk about than how mean the and nasty the other side are and quoting idiots off each others boards

TBH i probably do defend them, but the its more to with the fact that i cant be bothered with these arguments between our clubs and i defend my mates who are latics fans, as they are decent fans and i genuinely feel sorry for them. Even they believe this allienating of fans is damaging their club. I just dont like to rise to those type of idiots you see on that forum, i just get a good laugh out of some of the comments, it can be quite entertaining.



I must admit that bar the odd comments when wearing my Wigan Jersey and listening to thse idoits online i really havent seen much else. So i may be wrong when i say its a minority and judging by some peoples experiences on here im probably oblivious to alot of it (thats what 2 years away can do to you, lol). I will defend my friends as i know they are proper sporting fans, but thats about it. I dont think its fair to generalise all fans of a club, as even we have our fair share of idiots (albeit a minority in my experience).

You were the one who quoted Bondi in this thread to desperately try to qualify what you put - you show where any regular poster on here has defended the type of comments posted from Cockney Latic. It's only when pulled up for making that erroneous generalisation that you've gone for the usual victim complex bringing up all the usual drivel spouted by those Latic fans who have obviously got to you - isn't that their aim and you've simply fallen for it?



Sitting on both sides of the "divide" I think those that have the chip on their shoulder about one thing or another to do with the other club are pretty pathetic, but those that get wound up by it (which you clearly do) simply fuel it and really do need to get a grip.

I'm with bondi and andy wigan/leeds on this,it seems some supporters on both sides of the coin (a minority) are hell bent on continuing this divide in support out of a sheer misguided hatred of each others teams

And prior to the Latics getting into the Premiership the vast majority probably supported Utd, City, Everton or Liverpool.

Now that you cant disagree with, but its the same with most clubs that rise the into the higher leagues, especially as quick as they did. It was obvious more people would go watching them in the prem.

The website is actually a v good read, made up of the real fans of WAFC that seperated along time ago when the JCL breed infiltrated cockneyliar. These guys will openly admit their dislike for WRLFC BUT will give reasons for it (the Lindsay era) and I aint got a problem with them one bit. I dont think youll find these men verbally abusing kids in ASDA just for wearing a WRLFC, in fact most of them watched WRLFC in the early 80`s.
