| Hi A. It was actually a one on one ball steal, Neil was only just caught by Craig Calvert. Blackpool scored on the next play because the Haven defenders were so far behind.

If it was any other team he probably would have scored as Calvert can shift more than the majority of wingers in Rugby League.

He scored a cracking try for Wigan academy v Saints a few years back at Knowsley Road. IIRC a very young Joel Tomkins played at stand off for Wigan that day

I never realised that he is an Ex Wigan lad.
Why did we get shut?
Is he pure pace and nothing else?

| Calvert didn't really make the tackle...he just distracted Holland enough for someone else to make the tackle from behind...Holland lifted Calvert off his feet with a hand-off as he tried to tackle him.
Holland was very impressive yesterday and seems to have a long stride which helped him get half the length of the field for the break away.

| It's great news that both Holland and Davies are impressing at their new clubs, as we all know it can be difficult sometimes for young forwards to impress when going up against more psychically mature opposition, but these two lads really seem to be holding there own.

have you see the whitehaven squad holland came up against, and stood up against? they are a big physical bunch of blokes and it was a real test for him. he'll benefit a lot from that game and the run out against leeds in a few weeks too. he is really impressing me the times i've seen him at the panthers and look forward to him developing into a wigan first teamer in time to come

| holland and davies will both make it at wigan in my opinion. In fact the only one who I dont think will make it out of that 21's pack from last year is Chris Tuson. Nothing against the lad I just feel as though there are many more players ahead of him at the moment and it's a credit to the standard of our second row that tuson can't force his way in.
Davies will be the next to break into our pack and I think we will see him alot more next year playing first team. I can see Feka leaving and it is right that davies will take his role, leaving salary for another player.
Holland I feel just needs to bide his time on dual contract and loan at the likes of blackpool. If he keeps impressing I wouldnt be at all suprised to see him in the first team in 2 years maybe when coley/fielden decide enough is enough.
Walker has that harrison hansen mould about him in that he gets through tons of work which goes un-noticed.
Farrell will be an exceptional player and him joel and lockers will feature in our back row for a long time to come, unless joel moves to centre which could be a possibility in the long run.
At the minute dual contract seems to be benefiting wigan more than any other club because we are usuing it correctly. Players who are on the verge of first team i.e walker/farrell/marsh are constantly there or there abouts in the team and when they go back to their 2nd club they are immense. It is a credit to our youth that we could actually bring in a player in each position on the park and they would not look out of place in super league.
