For me the most likely candidate is Daz Goulding. He had an excellent game against Hull FC (home) at centre & didn't look out of place at all. I would like to see him get a few more games at centre this year.
Josh Charnley and Stefan Marsh need much more game time. We need that strength in depth for certain, but a loan to a SL club with a 24-hour recall would be perfect. From what I've been told though, Marsh is seen more of a fullback and Charnley is seen as more of a winger.
Push comes to shove, age is just a number, we could just re-sign Carmont for another year after 2011.'"
I have to admit I'm not a great fan of sending players out on loan and then bringing them back for one or two games due to injury. I'd rather see them settled at one club for the full season.
For that reason I hope Pryce is resigned as cover rather than calling guys like Charnley back. IMO with the loss of Phelps & Ainscough plus Pats injury means we are a little short on wing cover.

| We start next season without Pat, Roberts could go full back with Sam at 6.
This may well give us Goulding on the right wing and either Charnley or Marsh left wing.
Goulding has to be favourite as Carmont's replacement. He's a centre anyway and has had a very good season playing almost all year. I'm sure he will fill the left centre spot without any difficulty following his good run in the first team.
Interesting that there's no mention of a further year's option after 2011 for George.
I'm sure MM will manage that situation very well.

That makes no financial sense at all. Why pay Pryce a full year's salary, however small, to play in the reserves, when we can have cover available at no cost to us other than the odd game Charnley or Marsh might play?

Has to be Gleeson and Carmont, look at the tries scored, setup and saved. A large part of the championship winning team.

Bridge is better than Gleeson and King better than Carmont, it's that simple. Wigan are by far the best team in the league and will be even stronger next year with your new additions. I just feel Warrington are stronger in that area. Wigan have great leaders and outstanding talent all across the board. In my eyes Sam Tomkins is the best player in the league and you have a core of outstanding young talent with more coming through the system.

In your opinion.
The bit I've underlined has yet to be borne out, judging from what I've seen of Bridge on TV.
Don't think of Gleeson as the unhappy, unmotivated player he was at Warrington. At Wigan, he's been a lean, mean machine, and it's a bit of a joke that he wasn't taken Down Under.

| Very happy with the news. Hopefully, it'll be managed well to enable a youngster to gain some experience and step up to replace him in 2012.

With the greatest respect to what Goulding has achieved this year, I am still of the opinion that he is not a top class SL quality centre and nor will he ever be.
For me he simply lacks the skill set.
He has proven himself an excellent finisher, and I feel he will be best served long term remaining on the wing.
There are a few candidates within the club, but personally I do not see Goulding as the long term solution. I also feel that we may very well have to bring in 1 centre probably from the NRL in the next 2/3 seasons or so depending on when Gleeson decides to call it a day..

I agree and I hope that Goulding gets a lot more games at centre this season. He has done a good job on the wing but I have always seen him primarily as a centre. I certainly see Marsh as more of a full back/wing than centre and I think that Charnley is also more of a winger than centre.
