Stuck on the M6 for 5 hours last night without moving an inch. The worst bit is it was at Gathurst - about 1.5 miles from my house. I was trying to pick my daughter up from Lpool airport, she got diverted to Manchester and is stuck there now. No trains running. Just tried to get onto the M6 to get to Manchester and its down to 2 lanes again between Standish and Orrell - so the traffic is backing all the way back up into Standish. Don't fancy trying to get up Redrock to go via the M61 so she's stranded.

Trains to Manchester are running - my daughter left Wigan for work in Piccadilly an hour ago. She arrived about 11.00 last night and I couldn't pick her up, and no taxis, so she had a nice walk home!

Just a nice light dusting here in Leeds. Just enough to make it feel really Christmassy without being a nuisance.

I picked my girlfriend up in town last night. one and half hour round trip from orrell, needed 3 pushes by kind people on way back up through pem. pure pure nightmate. safe to say I'm going no where today!

Not very helpful to get past a jack knifed lorry

Apparently a lorry jack knifed outside the Abbey Lakes pub. Had no problem getting in and out of Wigan on the bus today (352).
