Watching the game it looked like both sides were pretty rusty when it comes to attack, which is only to be expected.



At centre I can see why Wane praised Goulding. In attack there weren't many opportunities but the offload for Russell's try was excellent centre play. Defensively he was spot on, timing his runs out the line and making his tackles stick.



Gelling showed great promise with ball in hand although he looks like he'll need longer to get up to full speed. Defensively he was a little unsure at times but first impressions are that he has plenty to offer for the future.



Lauaki was running the ball in strong and looked very effective which is good news. I wasn't sure whether he'd be good enough at prop but if he keep that determination he should do well.



I was also impressed with Flower who ran well, especially his rampaging run from the restart. He's obviously got both pace and strength which is exactly what Wane seems to be after.

Lets not forget that Phil Bentham looks to have had a few too many mince pies over christmas.

He had some sort of sticker on his back walking around the services on the way home.....no idea who did that

I agree with what's been said, if Goulding continuous playing like that he will make a good centre I'd put him ahead of Gelling so far.

Goulding looks to be toying with a decent flick pass at the moment (Russell/Charnley tries), which if he can start pulling off regularly would definitely put him 1st choice on the right centre. The flick is far more important on that side than the left (assuming right-handers here). Charnley is looking such a strong weapon on that wing all we really need over there is some good service and good defence. Gelling should stick to the left imo, and we definitely shouldn't be afraid to rest Carmont whenever this year and let Gelling have a good crack at it too.

Yeah good commentry mate....do you commentate for local radio and was this taken from there? The commentry was very descriptive which made me think it was radio!



The only error you did make is you said Leeds beat us last season! They didn't

- This was one of my major gripes I had last year with the new play off system.....we lost our Super League crown to a team who never beat us, nor never needed to in order to win the championship! This was why the top 5 system was much fairer IMO.

I did 3 seasons on local radio - KCFM but the costs of covering sport became to high for them to sustain it unfortunately.

So i basically plug a Mic into the camera and say what i see for Hullkr.tv now

Try to get a good flow and not be too biased towards Rovers.
