| Quote NickyKiss="NickyKiss"Nor did Mike Greg as an out and out first team coach but he was exactly what we needed at the time and Lammy reminds me off that type of appointment.

Don't disagree totally but Greg had Andy Farrell, Terry O'Connor, Mick Cassidy and Lam himself to call on in the team. Thats a massive advantage to what we have currently. But maybe it is worth the gamble.

Agreed for this season. See how they do and take it from there. I think its Shaun Wane though

| We are going to do nothing.
At least that is what some seem to think is the answer.
I think losing Noble is the key, and an entire new backroom staff needs recruiting.
Wane may well be the lad to be given a shot with a view to Brian Smith at the end of the season, if he struggles.
We do need action, and have for some time in my opinion, the lack of action despite the warning signs that are on display every week is a real worry for me though.

I wouldn't put Radlinski as assistant coach just yet hold your horses, he just got back into the game, Radlinski will do great with the kids, let him do his apprenticeship with the juniors first.
I reckon Sahun Wane is ready for the step up to Assistant Coach.

| Still think Kearney would be the best option when compared to others like Lam.

| Wasps won't be making the playoffs this year so we could offer Edwards a lifeline (although we might struggle as well )

Nah not Kearney, no disrespect to the bloke but he isn't what we need, he has no experience.

| tbh ive been thinking this for a while.......it seems that leneghan is not willing just to pay noble off and splash the cash on a new coach this season, which tbh IMO I cant critisise too much...... as although he may not be doing what everyone is crying for, he is striving to run the club sensibly as a business, which is actually greatly beneficial for us as a club and our long term future.
However, what my thinking is, is sack nobby, promote Wane to Head Coach on his current salary, (as an opportunity to make a name and if he is good enough, secure a FT vastly increased head coach contract in 2010). In doing that Wigan and Leneghan wouldnt be out of pocket....we will have to pay nobbys salary to the end of the year either which way, but in taking this option, there is no further expenditure (ie on bringing someone in), and we get a chance of making a fresh start, improving the dressing room situation, and giving one of wigans own the chance, providing he is good enough this yr, to take us forward as our next head coach (as greg would have done but for his illness).
As a club we cant really lose......wain is either not up to it, and we continue with a poor season and have to write it off (as we will have to if we continue with parker anyway) and then we bring in a W/C coach, OR Wane proves himself as a class coach and we therefore offer him the job F/T in 2010.
We cant lose IMO.
Nobby out.....Wane as Caretaker Coach til the end of the season.

If I was Wane I would bide me time coaching the reserves for one or two more years or assistant coach at a push, he needs more time to learn his trade.

| Well Wigan aren't progressing at the moment, they have got to come together and get their form right!
At the minute as i said in this opening post, they seem 2 win 2 and lose 2 or win 1 and lose 1.
They have got off to a terrible start this season! and have been patchy since.
Again like i said in my opening post would sacking the coach change anything?
