| The CC has started to bite.
"Everyone is equal"
No there are not. Every sport needs it's big clubs, it's household names.
RL has deliberately crippled itself.
Today it's Wigan who are suffering. Tommorrow maybe Leeds?
They have dragged down the best and the ambitious to the level of the weakest and narrow minded.
This actually suits IL imo as from what I have seen/heard what he wants is a club that he can run "on the cheap".
Quite appropriate that "cheap" is a very good term to describe British RL atm.

| Quote jonh="jonh"Now i have to say that i was not at the game tonight but my feelings about Wigan are at there lowest ebb in my time of following the club. The lethargy on the pitch has transmitted to me as a fan and to be perfectly honest my passion for the club is at its lowest point ever. I no longer look forward to the games and in addition to this I am no longer bothered about watching them, if there is another game which may provide more entertainment for my £.
I have always said i an a rubgy league fan prior to being a Wigan fan, and at the moment i see nothing of the qualites in the club that i grew to love the club for.
I am also no longer disappointed by a loss.
Am I alone in feeling like this? Not living in Wigan and having been attempted from one side of the family to follow another club rather than following Wigan being a birth right i wonder if i am alone with this feeling.
I do know i have seen the other club that was forced on me (Wakefield) play far worse rugby than i have ever seen Wigan play, but i still always looked forward to watching them, i hand on heart cannot say the same about Wigan anymore.'"
I agree totaly with what your saying about not be disappointed anymore, i really just go to games, because i have a season ticket.
Every team i have seen this year (not seen hull or salford) live, have improved from last year, every team that is bar 1!!!
I am not a sack the coach type, but last night hudds did nothing more than 5 drives and a kick, play hard, and lie on in the tackle!
Which begs the question, exactly what are we doing in training in the week? Loosing to Leeds, was fair enough as they were outstanding!
Perhaps it is time to change something, as we clearly are going backwards each year, its not the start of the season anymore, we are 8 games in and we are shocking. A third tier team at best! And it doesnt even break my heart anymore!

| Totally agree, you could see this fiasco coming, I personally have never missed a game for some years now but this season I didnt renew my family season ticket and the only game I have been to is the friendly with Leigh and that was enough for me
Sorry to say but times are hard and when you are willing to fork out hard earned money you kind of want some value and entertainment back in return

| What a pathetic "we all feel sorry for ourselves topic". Get up and smell the bacon, this week should surely have made you all sit up and realise there are far more important things in life than winning every game of Rugby League. You all need to go on the Wakey forum and realise what unity and togetherness is all about, you could all learn a few things about life on there.

| very good thread and some interesting and sensible posts.i have watched wigan over 50 yrs, seen the good days, had the bad days, enjoyed our halcion days, but alas IL,BN,and this present side leave a lot to be desired.i used to be very passionate before a match, but now i am just going through habit which is in itself sad.i sit there watch the game come home and am not bothered wether we have won or lost.who is to blame.IL for trying to do it on the cheap,bn he is in his 3rd season and we are no better than when he arrived, some of the players but then they are only playing to the coaches orders.IL wil not pay big wages and tbqh we must be well under the salary cap with the players we have lost over the last couple of years.how long is it since we have been a decent consistant side, and even with some youngsters comming through i dont see any light at the end of the tunnel.funny how times change,i remember frank endacott being sacked early in the season when wigan were riding high in the league.love lindsay or hate him if he was in charge were would noble be now.

| Raceman this isnt about feeling sorry for ourselves and winning every game of rugby league ( although winning one convincingly would be nice ) its about peoples expectations of Wigan Rugby League and value for our hard earned cash !! Derby day for example
Wigan v Saints Family ticket east stand red = £52
Kids to McDonalds for tea = £20
Couple of pints at the game = £6
Total = £78
or
Sky tv and a pack of John Smiths = £ 10
I wouldnt hesitate at paying £78 like I have in the past but is it really worth it in this current climate and for what is being produced on the pitch that is what we are discussing value for money

You can't have been at the game then.
Why don't some of you guys grow up and admit:
1. The levelling is not down but up.
2. Success goes round in cycles - we have one of the greatest success records in the history of the game, yet you decry us, so is it any wonder people knock you?
3. Your halycon days were a direct result of Auntie Mo's money. Nothing more nothing less. You could aford the players which other clubs couldn't.
4. When you lose to a better side admit it rather than spouting the nonsense we are reading on most of this forum at the moment. We did not lie on any longer than you. That seems to be the way of things this season. Did you watch the Leeds/Saints game? Were we ever offside - yes, at least 50 % of the time. Were you ever offside? Yes, at least 50% of the time. Were we penalised? Yes. Were you penalised? No.
5. It's at times like this that supporters should get behind their team and club. The majority don't - I know, I was part of our lowest ever crowd of 400+ some 20 years ago.
By the way, the side which beat you last night had 5 players you considered weren't good enough; only 3 overseas players; and worked as a team.
Oh, and I do know how people think that coaches make a difference - good or bad. 12 months ago we had Jon Sharp - nuff said.

Get a grip sunshine, you're missing the point, it's not about winning evry game, or expecting to, this thread is about how our team and it's lack of passion, leadership and energy has had, and is having an effect on the fans, including me. I'm 44, and have been watching for 40 years, ups and downs, but what is happening at our club at the moment is completely different to any other time, we are lacking in so many areas it's worrying. I am finding it hard to get up for any game, know it's likely I'm going to be bored at some point in the first half, and no matter how much I shout and cheer them on, I'm not getting it back from the players.
We need lots, but more than anything, we need:
PASSION, DISCIPLINE, PRIDE, COACHING AND LEADERSHIP BOTH ON AND OFF THE FIELD.
I watched our players at the final hooter last night, and there were far too many players smiling, shaking hands, chatting with the Wakefield players, I found it amazing after that performance, and that apathy in our plaers is one of the reasons the fans including myslef have started to feel apathetic too.
Roll on the Stains, cause like a glutten for punishment, I will be there!
