... i said PB in unedited post for some reason - if from westhoughton just go towards Leigh/ lovers lane then onto wigan road

its virtually sorted itself out by now.

folk have found alternate routes.



however....if your coming from the m61..ie yorkshire way.....come off at the reebock, go down dicconson lane, then carry on to aspull and down scholes way.



atherton way......go through bickershaw, lower ince.



there is only a short section of bridge street closed, and after the initial disruption due to nobody realising it was closed, things are calming down.

i wouldnt anticipate any major delays.

Well how come the traffic is still backed up to my house in Hindley Green most days?

because those folk are too thick to realise there are alternate routes

And people coming from Castleford will know these alternatives?

if people from castleford end up in hindley green they deserve to be stuck in a traffic jam





read the initial advice for folk leaving the M61

its quicker turning right on the A6 towards Blackrod then left at the Poacher... but thats just my opinion.

i think thats a matter of opinion..........always seems longer to us that way.

probably cos we dont go that way very often.
