| Quote tim791="tim791"Not sure what half of what you are typing about..
But Sharp played well, I agree, he's played FB before, he needs to stop dropping the ball so much, its getting annoying. He makes unforced errors.
One of the times, imo, the ball got punched out. Unlucky there.
He was solid, made some good meters.
I dont agree about Skee with you, he isn't a natural hooker, he was used as hooker while Kaye needed a break. I would of been happy with Skee being our starting half back.
May had a solid game, made a few errors, but thats natural on his debut.'"
Question for you. Craig Wing. Half back or Hooker?

What relevance is comparing a player of Craig Wing's quality to Dylan Skee?

Not sure what people were really expecting from us this evening, apart from effort?? Skee didn't look too impressive when he came on and made some mistakes. To suggest he should have been our starting half back is crazy.
It sounds like some people on this site were expecting a Hollywood style game, where May or Skee score the winning try after the Hooter has finished having played like Jonathan Thurston on speed!
'"
As someone else has posted, letting Skee start at SO would have been a major confidence boost. Comparing it to throwing him in when the team were clearly going to lose the match is completely different and pointless. I'd rather have him there than Matt "Turnstyle" Gafa who is one of our worst players now.

It's about position and not the individual. Is Craig Wing a half or a hooker?

| Was Gafa that bad at Stand Off? I know he's played there several times before.

He can now. Never was a hooker. Never played hooker til he was forced to. Not a "natural" hooker.
Former London Bronco Jason Hetherington. Very average 5/8th with Gilly at the Gold Coast, goes to the bulldogs. Gets told to learn how to play hooker. Watches video after video of Steve Walters. Goes on to represent both Queensland and Australia at hooker.
Point is, people can move positions, people can adapt and in the case of the Quins player give em a chance whoever said he wasn't a natural hooker.

I don't dispute this. Some people can't though. You can't force people to be good in a certain position. In some cases is painfully obvious they won't be good in a certain position.

The reason the half time score was so reasonable was because we made very few mistakes and gave away very few penalties.
If Skee had started (and played for 60 minutes instead of 20), the number of knock on's, errors and interference at play the ball he would have committed would have been huge. This would have resulted in a cricket score against us.
Im not sure that any player would get any confidence from that at all!

And you base that on what?
Fantastic. I'd we'd have started Joe Mbu we would have won by 20 points. Because I said so and I know what would have happened in hypothetical situations.

Fair call.
Has this geezer only played part of a game once there though. If so, ain't it a bit harsh to write someone off so soon?
What if he was one of a few (from people's comments on here) who simply had a bad day at the office.
