| Found this in the Examiner:
Quote There have been recent discussions about the best match day for us. Most people agree that, from a personal viewpoint, Sundays are best. But…
So far this season, 5 matches will not be played on a Sunday, and that is without any future Sky changes. The general feeling is that people are not prepared to pay for a season ticket when they do not know when matches will be played.
A solution might be Friday evenings. Even the people who preferred Sundays were not that averse to this suggestion. The advantages being:
1. People would know that the only possible change would be the occasional Thursday evening. If we were on Sky on a Friday, then no change.
2. There seems to be a better atmosphere at evening games.
3. Most people are at work on Friday, so, in effect, Fridays are booked, going out on an evening will make no difference to their plans. Sunday games mean that almost nothing else can be planned – families cannot take their children out on hot, sunny days, etc. The lack of a game on a Sunday frees up the day.
4. People with families say that it would not affect them attending matches with their young children as there is no school on Saturday.
5. Amateur RL players with matches on Sundays would be able to attend.
6. If people did want to watch rugby on a Sunday, they could go to a Championship, or lower, match.
One drawback would be the time away supporters would arrive back home. But would this be more than compensated for by having more season ticket holders?
Friday evenings could become the regular day for Super League – there does seem to be a growing trend towards this.'"
I understand that the comments came at the end of a HGSA meeting and are in no way a reflection on club policy - next season's agenda has not yet been discussed at board level.
What do you think?

| A move to Friday nights would mean I wouldn't be getting a season ticket and would hardly be able to attend any games. So it's a no from me.
Friday games would make a massive difference to my plans. Friday being a work day is irrelevant.

| We travel from Derby and have missed 2 home games in 3 years be it Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun or Mon but if it became Friday as the norm I doubt we would bother and would just go and watch Crusaders as we do now when Giants don't have a game.
I hope the fact the club moved the London and Salford games to Saturday means they do not agree with these plans and realise Sunday should be the main game day as moving to Friday has done nothing for Salford who are a much better yardstick for us to judge ourselves against rather than Saints Wigan or Leeds whose fan base will turn up regardless of the day.

| Will not buy a season ticket if games move to a Friday. I work away and manage to arrange to leave early on a Friday if we are at home. But could not arrange this 13 times a season. Also I enjoy the Sunday game far more as I am not rushing.

| Would go whatever but prefer Sundays. No chance to mingle with other fans at the rope walk on a Friday as we wouldn't be able to go in later with the kids. If I'm paying all that money I would prefer a "day out" rather than a rush down after work and rush back to put the tired kids to bed.

Just to point out as well that my reference to Friday being irrelevant is in reference to point 3 in the OP. Also, point 2 is utter garbage. Attendances will go down on Fridays IMO as there is a Sky game on. Put a cloud in the sky or a chill in the air and there will be a significant portion that will stay in the armchair.

| Would kill it for me too, I travel from Manchester, and if I'm not working from home, week games are nigh on impossible. My folks are clocking on now too, so they wouldn't bother with Fridays. It'd going to take all my effort to stop my one year old being city or utd rather than a giants fan, don't make it any harder for me, lol!

| Fridays would not be good for us either, a drive that takes about an hour on Sunday would take perhaps twice that on a Friday. we would get to as many games as we could but unlikely that would be enough to justify renewing the season tickets.
Of course if Fridays are better overall for the club then that is just tough for us, but I don't think it would be. Better atmosphere on Fridays was cited - I think that is more to do with bigger games being played on Fridays. The difference is playing Leeds or Wigan rather than lesser attractions with fewer visiting fans.
Based on no more than the evidence of my own eyes I believe we tend to get more home supporters on a Sunday afternoon.

| Fridays do work for some clubs- mostly those with lots of 20 something's. A section we are lacking. Our fan base is older and families- I can't see friday being more favourable for those.
