As our Canadian based supporter says - mind you, I wouldn't have thought of some of his suggestions, never mind understood them!



Wayne, my point was that people from a good distance away were asking the question. They wanted to come to the game but didn't want to make a wasted journey. I couldn't even raise my club contacts on the 'phone, although I realise they are busy on a match day.



As a club we were in a good position to capitalise on the lack of RL anywhere else.

they did update the website, it said the match was on, if the match was off they would have updated it again saying so, its not brain surgery is it?

Enjoyed the game today. Got a few funny looks with my bulls hat and fleece on, which I assume were along the lines of "have you got lost?"





Nice close game though which was enjoyable for a neutral. Nice little ground too. Easy access, easy parking, nice place.

A positive vibe and a few quid in the coffers that the club would'nt have seen if not for Alan's ( and others ) postings on various websites........cost to the club = Nowt, cost to the LSV = Nowt..............the twitter idea is good too ...........time to think "outside the box".

but thats the problem with the internet..if you are going to use it effectively, you have to keep it current, and "current" is measured in hours, if not minutes. This is especially true when the weather can turn nasty all of a sudden. I can understand why it may not be possible to have someone on hand capable of updating the website, which is where Twitter comes in...anybody can do it..



Now I am 36 and considered quite past it by those in their teens and early twenties. They are far more geared in to instant communication/updates through texting, mobiles, social networking sites. and if you want to crack that market you have to connect in that way...the good news is that most of it can be done at very little cost...

Nah, we got to the ground and went straight in, then got a coffee inside. Usually take the mother to games (it's great when the best treat you can give your mum is to take her to the rugby) and she was cold so didn't fancy messing around.

Telephones are a wonderous machine are they not? the ticket office was manned from 11:30am.

My computer must be slow - the message I'm reading was way back on 23/12/10, stating that the game would be on, providing there wasn't heavy snow. The people who contacted me, were from a fair distance away and they DID have snow. I had put my head above the parapet, by 'advertising' the game, and then couldn't give a definite answer, when asked if it was definitely on. Lesson well learnt - I'll leave the publicising of games to the experts in future!



As you probably know, I don't go in for slagging off the club - I'm merely stating my experience of ringing them, (before 11:30 as my contacts needed to set off by then) and two officials, who weren't answering their phones.



I hope others weren't put off from attending, by not knowing whether the game would be on or not.

Completely agree, with there being snow elsewhere then I fear those travelling from further afield might have assumed the game was at risk and not bothered making the trip just in case - regular updates are vital, especially as any sort of casual fan would check online before ringing the ticket office etc.
