| Quote Jasper C Debussy="Jasper C Debussy"For me yesterday was about supporting England and showcasing the LSV and welcoming other Rugby League fans from whatever club. The East stand looked fantastic in the sun, a sea of red and white and practicly full (pity the cameras were aiming at the two-thirds full West stand). It was taster of what the ground could be like with a successful Leigh team
I go to most of Leigh's matches and Leigh supporters are second to none but some of the chants are now changing from supporting Leigh to baiting opposition supporters. I just couldn't see the relevance of the anti-Wigan chants yesterday at an England game.
This is the forth match were there has been some adverse comment on some of the Leigh fans behavior. We can keep ignoring it until some incident occurs were some one will get hurt or we can get the chip off our shoulder about Wigan and Super League and concentrate on what we can have control of.'"
Fully agree with this ,i'm sick of hearing we hate WIGAN when playing anybody but Wigan it was even more embarrassing to hear it yesterday its just pathetic and yes other supporters sang but about their own club not having a go at Wigan who had the best player on the field !

Well said. Its a pity more Leigh fans are not posting similar. It was embarressing especially like you say the best player on pitch was a W1ganer, and what could we hear "We hate W1gan" and Leigh chants - amazing.
I couldn't hear the IRA song thankfully from East stand - tho if it was sang at least it was a laugh

| Was in the North Stand.
Heard the Nanyn song, and a song about Wigan,
didn't hear the Pasty one however.
Most of the chanting/noise was from the fans at the back of the Central section.
A Wigan fans stood near me was a tad upset by the Wigan song and he just called them,,, k**b heads............
At the end of the day, we went to support the national team.....
As for fans wearing their team shirts,
apart from Leigh and Wigan, the rest were few and far between

| Can anyone explain why the central sections either side of the tunnel were less than half full? I asked for tickets in that area when I bought mine early last week and was told nothing available. I thought it looked quite poor that this gave a poor impression on the TV.
With regard to the singing - I thought the anti-Wigoon songs were taken in good humour by Wigoonners sat around us in the East stand - but personally I did find the flute song a little embarrassing given the amount of kids and families at the match yesterday - but it still isn't as bad as the Stains fans singing "The referee's a W@nker" at full belt every 10 minutes" which Sky gloss over all the time!

| I couldn't understand the reason or need to chant anything about any other club. The PA announcement WAS because of the w*nky warrington chants. Disgraceful, and has really helped that 'tick in the box' for Leighs SL bid now hasn't it? Morons!
Anyhow its ok as the CCTV footage will clearly show those who were singing...

Gladly. The RFL didn't offer those seats for general sale.

Was perfect.
Tho signal to the plasma TV was cr@p in concourse of East stand

Classic excuse.....it is bad but whatsit does it anyway, and kids hear just as bad in the school yard etc. Why can't we be a club which is above all of this instead of accepting it?

| We were sat in the back corner of the West stand- south side.....directly in line with the try line. Around us were quite a few kids with those fekkin' horns blaring (I hope that doesn't catch on!!)
Even with all that noise, and from that distance, I clearly heard the flute song (which made me cringe), the Nanyn song (which made me laugh out loud!!), Stand up if you hate Wigan (which raised a wry smile as I knew they'd all be moaning about it on "Cherry&$hyte"....and they didn't let me down!!), and the 'pasty' chant....which "Cherry&$hyte" have immediately jumped on as racist chanting......I hope to God they were singing "Pasty"!!
On a different note - why the hell did they bother with a trophy for that game?? Pointless, and slightly embarassing to have that kind of razzamatazz style presentation to a ground that was near empty by the time they got round to it!!!

What has that got to do with Leighs 'bid', there fans from many many clubs at the international. The game was staged by the LSV not by Leigh Centurions RLFC
From what I am hearing the numbers of fans there from Leigh would actually go in our favour. Don't think there is a box to be ticked either for quality or otherwise of the singing
