Hi folks, just to let you know that we will be doing our first live match radio broadcast from the LSV when we play Halifax on Sunday and hopefully those that can't attend the game will listen in to some (totally biased) commentary.
The broadcast will start approximately 30 minutes before the 3pm kick off, at which time the radio player will become available on www.leighlife.com. You will know we are on air when you see the radio box, and when you see this, you just need to click play.
If you can't listen in on your PC we have also found some great (free) radio apps for all types of phones/ tablets with which you'll be able to tune in to our radio station, these include:
iPhone
iPad
iPod
Android Phones/Tablets
Windows Phones/Tablets
Blackberry Phones/Tablets
Palm
Samsung Bada (Whatever that is)
Basically, if you have an iPhone/iPad/iPod you will need to download 'TuneIn Radio' and if you have an Android phone you will need to download 'A Online Radio', go to 'add channel' and add this URL:
radio.leighlife.com/centurions (obviously you won't find anything on there until the radio is switched on).
(Of course, if you're at home on your PC you don't need to do any of this, just go to www.leighlife.com and click play.)
**I know most of you know this stuff by now, it's just for the benefit of those who dont.

| Good stuff! this is great for us who can't attend the games.
You can also get the "tuneIn radio" app for the Andriod phones as well.

No problem.
When we researched the radio apps, TuneIn was our first choice but we soon realised that the 'add channel' function isn't available on Android, hence the need to find an alternative. I must say, I have an Android phone and much prefer the 'A Online Radio' app anyway.

| I'll probably be giving this a try tomorrow.
Do you have to be registered with Leigh life to listen?
Cos I've tried that before and failed.

| No you don't have to be registered glow (you don't even need to sign in even if you are registered). If you are already on the site when the radio is switched on you'll just need to refresh the page to see the radio box.
If you go to Leighlife once the radio is on you'll see the radio box already there - just click play.

Hoping to have the legendary Derek Disley with me tomorrow and Si Reynolds will also hopefully get chance to tell people about the Leigh East - Crusaders game.

| Just a question here but having the live broadcast is great achievement but has anyone thought about home games losing the odd fan going to the game?
I remember in owden days (80's) when Piccadilly Radio used to broadcast live games but was only allowed to announce the fixture just before KO.

| I think it can only have positive impact to be honest.
According to some we could lose droves on Friday nights.
People don't come to games anyway because they don't get the Journal/Reporter/never see the big ad sign outside Asda/Mick Higgins once ran over my cat etc..
And if the commentary is that good that they feel they are better off not being at games, they can put a word in at the BBC for me...
Nah in seriousness the idea is to put Leigh's name further out there and if lapsed fans happen to tune in they might hear the atmosphere and think, I'll have a piece of that...
Not all fans can get to games and its just a way of reaching them.
Listening to us is the third best thing to being there, of course they could buy the videos as well that way they get the full package.
