Rafa isn't a 'man manager', never has been never will be. He's not a hands on coach at all. Carragher in his book makes this clear, Rafa isn't bothered how your kids are, what the wife is upto, how the folks are getting on, he's just tactics & team selection and this will alienate from a category of footballer, others no doubt will like this. Gerrard & Torres I think this year have felt like they could do with an arm around the shoulder, and it hasn't been there.



Rafa has done an okay job, no more or less, he's leaving behind a spine of a good side, if he'd have been able to work out the pieces on the fringe of the spine he'd potentially have done a great job but he couldn't make it work, 417 rightbacks in 6 years for example, he's never got to grips with left midfield, Mark Gonzalez, Kewell, Riera, Babel have all cost good money and delivered little yet sides have found Bale, Young, Malouda etc in that time.



They need a fresh approach without doubt.

rafa was clueless about how to win the league in england. he knew how to play against european teams as he did in spain and in the champions league but liverpool need a better manager then rafa or hodgson to win the pl title

Rafa blew his best chance of winning the league two seasons ago when he got stucked in to a verbal war with Fergie. Fergie had been there done that so had the credentials and the sucess to back up his comments where as Rafa didn't and he fell hook line and sinker for it.



He was a good manager and what Liverpool needed 6 years ago but he was never going to take us any further after this season with some of the decisions he has made and lost the backing of some of the senior and top earners.



Not sure who is best to replace him I like what Jorge Jesus has done at Benfica, King Kenny has been there and done that but has he got it in him to do it again? can the press survive the press conferences not understanding a word he says? Roy Hodgson seems to be the best option

I quite like Roy Hodgson but I reckon if Liverpool appoint him, the fans will probably give him a fair shot because they are usually quite fair minded and he comes over as a decent bloke, but I reckon Liverpool under Hodgson would probably hover around 5th for a while, then after 3-4 seasons the verdict from the fans would be 'he steadied the ship after Rafa but we need someone to take us to the next level'.
