As a saints fan id have to say.... Wire without a doubt.



Why?



Simply down to the type of RL you play opposed to Leeds. You try and throw the ball about make use of your 3/4 line well and offload at will and actually try to play entertaining RL.



Whereas leeds are all about negative tactics, lying on, trying to put the opposition off by using foul play and niggling in the tackle, kicking the ball dead in goal to so that can set up on the 30m line to defend. Boring Boring.



I'll be there in a Saints shirt - dont give me too much stick please!

Posted this on our site as well but I will be shouting for Wire. Wire play a very good attractive game and don't need to play the dirty tactics if losing like Leeds have done against us twice this year, 1 in which they won and the other week when they got beat by us. You deserved the game you won against us at Wigan whereas the same can't be said for Leeds when they beat us in the cup. Good luck

Definitely wont be wanting the Shister Yaarkshaar Whinos to win. Dity Leeds, always have been,always will be.

That said, Icannot bring myself toraise a cheer for the Wolfs. 'Tho if you do win I'll be pleased for some of my Wire mates.

Likely to be sat in the Wire end, so will proberly sit with my back to the action for the duration.

Looking through my 100% cherry n white-tinted glasses - I wont be 'cheering' for either side!



The best i can hope for is that both sides knock ten bells out of each other. Will do nicely before the playoff's.

From a pure 'fan of RL' point of view though, i think its a great final - Only possibly bettered by a Wigan v Saints one.

I'm sure both sets of supporters will make a helluva racket. And if both teams turn-up in top form? Should be a great game to watch.

That has to be good for the sport overall.



Just to clarify - I'd rather have multiple root canal treatment, than cheer for either of our 'hated' rivals!!!

It does feel like it at times, all 4 times (5 including a friendly) we have had Bentham, we have lost. TBH he's more of a bad luck charm, but he still comes out with some baffling decisions. But then again who doesnt???



EDIT: Just noticed we have Bentham on sunday against Huddersfield. That means we've already lost

According to Leeds fans our cup final is against you lot every year, does that make you a turncoat?

Exactly. I'll admit now if Wigan or Saints were playing anyone else in a final I'd want their opponent to win. If they were playing each other I'd want them both to get beat! It's just local rivalry and natural in competitive sport so no need for some of the tantrums being thrown.



If Widnes had been more successful in my time watching the Wire then maybe they could be added to the Wigan and Saints equation but as they've spent so much time in the lower leagues, and I miss the derbies, I've got a soft spot for them and want them up. I did enjoy sending them down last time though and my attitude to them may change if I get my wish and then they have a better season than us a la last time they came up - I didn't like them so much then!
