Football allegiances play no part in our support of the wire. the song has no football references in it at all and in anycase it is much better than the crap that those drummers come up with - mind numbing durge.

| It's a reworded Everton song. End of. I know loads of clubs sing variations but those words are Everton's with the names changed.
I do agree the tune is better than the monotonous dross of the drums so come up with better words and I won't argue...

| The above song is what they sing for Mikel Arteta, "The best little Spaniard we know". It is obviously more recent that the, "United are going to Glasgow/Moscow/wherever" song you're likely to be thinking of but those words are Everton's.
Perhaps we could just sing The Celtic Song and change Celtic's name to ours like Everton do too.
Or maybe we could do something really radical and actually think of something distinctive of our own that will catch on. Do we have any songmeister's on here?

| Quote Dropkick Murphy="Dropkick Murphy"The usual generic dirge obviously:
"Barmy Army", "Wires 'Til I Die", "Der der der der der WIRES" (Carnival du Paris tune), with a few chants of "Easeh Easeh Easeh" thrown in when we score, after the obligatory "We All Hate Widnes" while playing a team a division above them of course.
Yawn.'"
Good god mate, call yerself a fan? You missed off the main one.....'Great escape'. That is a beltter. And 'Who are ya'

| anyone familiar with the Madness song Wings of a Dove ? If you slightly mishear the chorus, you might interpret it as "woa-oh woa-oh, Warrington Wolves..... woa-oh woa-oh, Warrington Wolves...." ?? anyone with me? it might work as a potential song. Then again, I'm not keen myself on any references to wolves, much prefering the traditional WIRE as the official nickname. Just a thought.

| Haha I quite like that but I'm also not keen on anything with "Wolves" in it.
In fact, as an aside, in the 12 or 13 years since the club inflicted a Sky Sports Super League nickname upon us has anything chanted EVER had "Wolves" in it?
I acknowledge Bradford Bulls and Leeds Rhinos have worked but in our case surely it's time to drop it.

| Theres a guy at my work (who's originally from darrrrrn sarrrrrff) and he asks me on a weekly basis 'who have the wolves got this week', it just doesn't sound right.
This week to me, the wolves are playing Birmingham, not Harlequins.....
