Great to see a compendium of Biff at the beginning there. Amusing to hear Clarke and Carney say it can't be condoned - they have to say that - it's clear they love it. I wouldn't mind watching 1hr45min of Origin Biff to be honest....'"
state of origin biff is some of the best in the sport... im hoping for some today.

| scrappy first half with a few flashes of brilliance. 12-8 queensland.
Thurston having an excellent game.. slater dropped a bomb in the first few mins but has recovered to score a good try and look like the most dangerous player on show.
Jarryd Hayne also impressive for NSW in both attack and defense...
*edit.. Hayne having a bit of a mare in the 2nd half.

| Queensland id well to score some pretty classy tries in the wet weather. Slater always looked dangerous and I don't think that there could be a better half back partnership than Lockyer and Thurston.
NSW were never good enough to win I don't think. In game 2 hopefully Queensland can secure the series and maybe get a bit more of the biff

| when watching the highlights something i took from the game was that they dont really give penalties at the play the ball. They say the two refs has improved that area but it aint improved its just ignored unless it cant be for example when the ball was accidentally kicked out the players hand. On a few occasions players were tackled but were allowed to play on and defenders took an age to get off but were never penalised

the biff was a great opening, hope it kicks off proper 2nd game cos when they go at it they go at it.

Slater might have looked dangerous in attack, but he was a bit of a liability in defence - and people go on about Mathers dropping 1 ball a game, Slater must have dropped 3 or 4!

Yeh, I trusted him when those early bombs went up but I never really had confidence after he dropped the first one...
Can someone explain why the first NSW try was given when Slater knocked on, and then Thurston touched it in an offside position. Surely that should have been a NSW penalty?
