| The serialised columns in the paper put me off. Sounded more like a bloke in the pub telling a series of exaggerated stories to his mates to improve his credibility. I know some autobiographies are boring but Long comes over as a bit sad.

| I've read it (signed copy, no less). I think Longy comes across as quite vulnerable in his book and his childhood story is quite poignant. He isn't disloyal to anyone and it's quite clear from the outset that he is the only plonker he knows (which is part of the reason why he comes across as vulnerable IMO). Some of his stories are funny, although mostly not laugh out loud funny. I think the best one is the one in Hong Kong. That [idid[/i make me giggle out loud.
So long as the person you are buying it for isn't squeamish (thinking of the second story in the book in particular!) and doesn't get offended by bad language then I'd certainly recommend it for a stocking filler at Christmas. I enjoyed the read. But I have very eclectic taste - from Jonathan Kellerman to Ken Saro-Wiwa. That's what you get for being an English grad I guess!

| Sounds like it's the truth according to Sean Long with a bit of poetic licence thrown in. Let's face it, if it was boring then no-one would buy it. It's a bit like some of these fottball hooligan books, if you don't tell a few porkies it all gets very boring and childish.

| Now that the postman has delivered Natters' copy perhaps he could do a review.
