THINK you may be thinking of 06 when Horne played half back but obviously would ahve been defending in the centres opposite, you guessed it, Mark Gasnier.
Could be wrong like but in 03, I think the centres for Aus were two donkeys like Wing and somebody where with Gleeson and Senior in their heyday, I actually thought we had the better centres...

| wing and bailey were the centres in game 1. senior got the better of bailey quite convincingly, especially for the scrumbase try he scored.
de vere replaced bailey in the centres for games 2 & 3.
wing was a very good player and did us a lot of damage in other years coming off the bench at hooker. he wasn't a centre though, just that they had a lot of injuries that year.
gower played stand off as well. he wasn't comfortable there, he was a 7 or 9.
...and we still couldn't win!

| The drop out from Sheffield this year on SKY (I can't remember who it was against) when the ball travelled all the way up the pitch and went out at the back. Just the opposition players chasing the ball and never getting anywhere near it...

Defended in the centres, that must be it.
That '03 team was easily the worst Australian team i've ever seen. Not any of the teams that have followed since, that I annually hear are the "worst Kangaroos ever" on here. Phil Bailey a Kangaroo is a disgrace.

| I agree. Hence why I said for once in living memory I thought we had better centres...
tbf we played one game completely with 12 men and I thought we were unlucky not to win that series and we lost 3-0, it could EASILY have been a British win, good series I thought.

| You lost 4 games in a row against us in the last 5 minutes. First game of the 2004 Tri-Nations continued where the Ashes left off. I loved it, but i'm sure it was highly frustrating. Hindmarsh and Minichiello won us that 2004 game.

| I think it was in 2009, In a hull fc v hull kr game and after a FC player scores a try (number 4 i think it was) he punches his fist in the air to celebrate and punches Dowes right on the chin.

| When forum legend Barry McKenzie was crashing over seemingly at will for 4 pointers for the mighty De La Salle a few years ago I recall during a particularly hard game against the Menai Roosters (which we won 18-16) their halfback got his head split open by a swooping Magpie as he tried to add the extras following a try. He had to leave the field for 10 stitches in his scalp.
Aussie Magpies are lovely birds for about 10 months of the year. They have a beautiful song and are lovely friendly birds that will happily take food from your hands when they get to know you.
But when the breeding season arrives.... look out. A mate of mine was temporarily blinded by one of the b*stards as a kid
