A few years since I read this but it's ok. As with most of these sorts of books I suspect some of the stories have been spun a little, but I have no doubt that, certainly in the 80s, some aggro was available if you were looking for it.

I can only recall trouble at Keighley twice in the 20 years or so I've been going.



It involved Fev and Hull KR. Who both are notorious for this.



I will say I've not seen anything in the last 15 years though

In the 80s the infamous Hull FC & Hull KR good friday derby at the boulevard...shocking scenes bricks thrown all over the place young & old injured..Thankfully now just a few isolated incidents involving the chavs.

In the 80's Warrington,Hull,Featherstone were quite bad but nowadays i hardly see any crowd trouble besides the odd w@nker at Warrington.

I think there has always been a few rare occasions when this sort of stuff occurs. The worst I have seen was a semi final at Elland Road in the 80's when Wigan played Hull KR, and I have seen plenty at football to compare it with. It was on a par with that.



Only a few clubs have these idiots still, and we all know who they are.



Ther has been trouble at Rugby League matches probably always. My Dad mentions some trouble in the 40's at both Odsal and Headingley.Neither of these clubs seem to have much trouble nowadays, although there is the odd one in the South stand.

I remember shapened down pennies golf balls and bottles allways thrown at Warrington games in the 80's a freind being stabed after playing Leeds at Leeds brick throwing at hull neither party being inocent and I will never forget it tim street from Leigh ofering hull kr fans out during the warm ups and Leigh players officials etc holding him back lol to be fair though he did get some abuse shouted at him lol

No club these days has anything like the problems of the 70s and 80s. I remember some bad incidents in the late 80s (was a child at the time) including having to be thrown onto the pitch as trouble broke out on Boulevards bunker end. Alot of the trouble back then was organised.



Don't think we have anything like these problems these days, certainly nothing organised - more the town drinking crowd having a few too many at the game.
