| Quote Pete_Zatoppin="Pete_Zatoppin"We need to find out how many =#FF0000freebie tickets were given out.
Wrexham FC season ticket holders were given them, but I wonder how many other 'freebies' the Crusaders gave out to other members of the public?
They tried this last year in newport and that didnt really work out'"
Doesn't actually matter in this context , getting that many through the door is a hell of an achievement
I just hope they dont think that the job is now done , it has only just begun

| Crusaders next home games are Hull (21st Feb) and Catalans (19th March). 2 home games in the next 2 months? Is this good or bad?
On the one hand people may be more willing to make the effort to go once a month but it also hints at a bit of an anti-climax.
Or maybe it is irrelevant.

FWIW I am told that this is not true and though a lot of the tickets were discounted for one reason or another, none were freebies.

That happened with our first ever game at Craven Cottage, we had 4000 less in for the next one, which would mean c.6000 at the next Crusaders game - a figure that I'd imagine they'd be quite happy with.

I personally will be coming for the Hull match. We always bring a big (and vocal) crowd along so you can expect a decent turn out for that one as well I'm sure.
Crusaders away supporters will be the acid test of how much genuine interest there is in this club.

No, it won't.
The Catalans bring pretty much zero away support, and there's no doubting the interest in them.
You should think before typing.

Maybe you should think before responding.
Catalans are a very different kettle of fish.
I'll be interested to see how many Crusaders bring to places like Wigan and St Helens where there is no need to catch a plane and fly for 2 hours.

Hopefully more than Quins, Salford or Huddersfield.

Of course they are - otherwise you might have to accept that your argument is stupid!

You would have thought that they will bring more than Harlequins. If they don't...then we might as well take the franchise off them now before it gets any more embarrassing. Salford and huddersfield should both take a bigger away following to the likes of Wigan and Saints than the crusaders will.

Not sure there is anything to argue?
Whats the surprise in a club from the south of France not bringing many supporters to watch a Friday night fixture at somewhere like the Willows?

The surprise is that you would therefore claim away support is an acid test of how much "genuine interest" there is in a club.

An even bigger surprise is that you can manage to switch on your computer without your carer helping you.
Catalans will always struggle with any real away support. The obvious reason is the amount of miles between them and their competitors.
The furthest clubs away from the crusaders would have to be Hull (FC and the Dobbins), harlequins and of course Catalans. This will have an effect on the amount of fans of even the most well supported clubs that travel.
Lets see how many fans the crusaders take to places like Warrington, Wigan and St Helens. It won't be many.
