i like the mention in the article of the Asia pacific thing being set up to develop the PI an PNG.

PNG as part of a Pacific Nations side? What cultural, anthropological or linguistic ties does PNG have with Tonga, Samoa or the Cook Islands?

not that i agree but a combined PI team would be much stronger and ensure the tournament maintains credibility.

I get the feeling that this is going to turn out to be a complete non-story but here goes anyway. Ditching PNG cos they got stuffed this time round is not a sensible decision. Where would they go? How would they improve?

PNG v france.

celtic nations v pacific isles.

Who?

What's pointless is inventing new 'teams' to play against other made up 'teams'.

1) They all play rugby league

2) They are in the South Pacific

3) They are all islands

4) They are all dirt poor

5) They were all colonised by the British Empire



Quite a lot of things when you look at it.
