Admit i was wrong about Addy he was great at SH on sunday, he really needs to tackle at the legs though far to many time he bounced off by going for the upper body and Hudds gained some more metres, but so far keep it up, just hope he isnt frozen out when Gale comes back.



We are playing blindingly with : Gale, Evans, Platt, Disko, Purtell, Bateman out and a couple of others carrying knocks we can only improve when the team is up to full strength.



Hope that O'Brien is partnered with Heath at Hooker we came to life from runs from DH and O'brien had a great game.



Still wish we would have kept Ainscough, put him on against Hudds with 20 mins to go and let him run riot against them, as some where out on their feet.

Pretty sure Addy won't be frozen out. He's a quality back rower at the end of the day and there will be plenty of work available for injuries and rotations as the season progresses.

FC seems to be talking Addy up in the T&A. Good to see the coach backing his players. Addy has come in for some stick on other forums from the know-nowts.



He's far from the finished article but is still very young and although he's been around the first team for a few years he's had relatively little game time. He's often been asked to fill the playmaking role which isn't really his forte so he's had more pressure on him than most other young players coming into the side.



I'd like to see him get an extended run in the backrow in a settled side. I think we'd see him improve a fair bit. In the meantime he's doing a decent job as makeshift halfback. He deserves as much support as possible.

The thing about Addy is that you can easily see both that he is in many areas raw, (he had a mare against Saints) but also that he shows a lot of class and a lot of promise. He seems to me to have a lot more natural ability and a lot better rugby brain than most young players and I think he could given time and patience develop into quite a little gem.

Got to admit that's causing a little doubt in back of mind as to what's going on with gale. Everything seems to have gone quiet as when he's expected back. Can't help wondering if talking up our other playmaking options is a precursor to him being out longer than expected. Hopefully it's just me doing 2+2 and coming up with 5

My mate asked Gale on twitter the other day about his fitness and apparently he has a Scan on the 14th March which he is hoping will give him the all clear

Guess that means all clear to resume full training, then he needs to gain fitness and after that a couple of weeks at Dews or in the U20s, so we may be talking around the beginning of May?

It will have to Dewsbury Bulliac, we dont have the 20's now.

How dont you follow didnt mention tonight and yes we need to perform in every game, but when it comes to mid season and other teams may start to slow down and pick up injuries we will have Gale + Evans returning and also Purtell will be back around that sort of time maybe sooner so we could be better placed to take advantage of it.

Agreed, there can be no argument that when you really need your players fresh, firing and on form is the business end of the season, and what a lot of people don't seem to appreciate is that neither an individual player nor a team can be at their peak all year, in any sport.



Secondly it's hardly a case of it "doesn't matter" what happens currently, of course it does, but whatever happens currently Gale won't be happening currently or for the foreseeable. The post was simply and correctly pointing out the possible upside of that situation, but it's not a situation we can change.
