Do you consider 3 weeks between SLE deciding on a 14 team competition and no publicly announced decision how that 14th club will be decided to be a reasonable time scale?'"
Do not think it is unreasonable at all. There have been many 'shoddy' decisions made by the RFL throughout this episode. Letting a team into the 14 that could not get through 2013 and 2014 would be a further failing by the RFL so taking time to get this right seems sensible.
from the 23rd til, at least, Sept 7th and possibly the 10th, there was a hold up because some of OKs advisors were on holiday ( www.google.com/hostednews/ukpres ... 490574596A )
Indeed if the RFL suspected that OK may not have the funds to get through 2 years in SL then this delay works to the advantage of OK Bulls in the championshup, but I guess you have already worked out why that is.

What "advisors"? The article does not say that, and OKs advisors were not on holiday. The reference is to "third parties". It doesn't mention "advisors". You made that up!
And why anyway would the RFL need to speak to OKB's advisors as part of due diligence?
 right back at you, ginger!

| Quote childofthenorthern="childofthenorthern"The problem is the RFL appear to have no plan as to where we're going to play. Whichever division we are in we need time to put in place appropriate coaching, playing and support structures and the longer the silence emanating from Red Hall continues, the less time there is to organise that. How does the club arrange sponsors, sell season ticket, recruit players and coaches without being able to tell them which division they'll be competing.
There appears to be no valid reason the for RFL to not have a process to make that decision already. After the SLE clubs decided they wanted a 14 team league the RFL should have been determining how to make that decision even if no public announcement was made, That way as soon as the legal take over of the club was concluded the RFL could say 'here's the process we're going to follow'.
At present the closest we have to knowing what's going to happen is that there have been hints there might be a decision on how the decision will be made by the end of this week.
What we're asking for is clarity and the lack of that is leading to frustration and that's what is being voiced in those comments.
If the RFL announce a clear process then there isn't any room for those conspiracy comments.'"
I've said before that, much as deep down I don't want to drop from SL, there is an argument for relegating ourselves and withdrawing from SL.
If we follow plan RFL, not being able to recruit with all the current uncertainty, and then spend the next two years being deducted monies and making an impossible fight to be competitive before diminishing crowds and finances, then (most probably) being ditched at the next round of tendering as not being of the right quality for SL.
OR
Do we drop down now and build from whatever we're left with, hopefully have two successful seasons in the NL and then present a strong case, hopefully built on our still strong attendances and finances for the next licensing period?

Odd as it may seem, the take over of the club is a side issue.
When the SL clubs decided they wanted 14 teams is there anything that prevented the RFL from drawing up a set of procedures/rules, from that date onwards, to decide the criteria for the 14th club membership?
If they have decided the rules already, now that the takeover is complete and RFL membership ratified, why haven't they announced what the rules/produce is? Incompetence, deliberately delaying or is there another possibility?
If they haven't decided the rules, why not? Incompetence, deliberately delaying or is there another possibility?
For what it's worth, I don't believe they are deliberately delaying and i think it's likely they want the Bulls in SL but can't just say it straight out but I haven't ruled incompetence out either.

Or if we get the chance to stay in SL are we prepared to provide a higher level of support to the club financially? 10000 supporters times an extra £10 a month nearly matches the RFL distributed funds. How many would or could do that?

Afaik they are only talking about reduced central funding (sky money) not removing it entirely. So to make up shortfall could be a lot less than £10 a month. If the new owners at gave people an option to pay an extra £10-20 at time of purchasing season tickets with that extra money ringfenced to sign players we wouldnt have been able to due to the shortfall then how many would be prepared to pay the extra?.
for arguments sake say owners are prepared to speculatively spend 1.2million on squad then say anything above this level of spend would have to come from moneys raised through the voluntary extra amount on season ticket. Bit like a squadbuilder type fund which I believe is quite common in at championship level.

yeah but we apparently budgeted to lose £1.2M this year and that was with all the sky money
I agree an extra contribution is probably something that could be done and if it's guaranteed for a specific purpose then it's probably easier to promote it.

The last set of selection criteria clearly failed as the Bulls soon went into meltdown. The old criteria were based on a 3 year cycle. they also gave promoted sides significant advanced warning. They also have previously selected exclusively a club from the championship. Now they have to consider a newly formed team.
Much to consider. To do it better than in 2011 it may take several weeks to establish the criteria and get the assessors in place. 3 or 4 weeks does not look too bad.

They are indeed only talking about [ireducing[/i monies coming in but it's not just the Sky money, afaik it also includes any distribution from any RFL sponsorships and money from play-offs and the like and I'd be interested to learn just how much we are going to forfeit, assuming etc etc...
For my own part the answer to the original question is yes, but I've followed Northern/Bulls since the 1950s and it will take something pretty gigantic to put an end to my habit, though we all have to accept that Bradford is far from a high wage economy and there are plenty out there who will not be able to afford vast hikes in ticket prices, though I think we all realise that they are absolutely inevitable. I hope that some good deals for families, for instance, can be made

Ignoring your surprisingly childish insults, (what's "little man" all about, FFS??) no it wasn't, and your link says no such thing.
What's this "desperation", then? All I said was that OKB's advisors were not away on holiday, which they weren't, and so you were wrong. I'm struggling to see why that has got under your skin so much, but hey ho.

Oh dear. Do you go off like this in normal conversation too? I'm not sure what that tantrum even means, or why you're speaking so strangely, but your hissy doesn't change the fact that you were wrong. Deal with it.

I think that provided the fans like the look of the team we look like being able to put out, plenty will be well disposed to getting a season ticket paying same as what they paid last year. Because the fact so frequently overlooked is that for most fans, that price was [Pledge price + [£100 Panic Pledge - the net result was that in fact basically hardly anybody [iended up[/i having a particularly cheap season ticket, as it happened, and the point was that of course they were able to afford it, [iand[/i decided the extra £100 was a worthwhile use of their limited resources.
For the centre stand and Club members, I fully expect that the 2013 prices assuming we are in SL will actually be cheaper than the sum of what we all ended up paying last season.
Add to that the fact that, just at the moment, there is definitely a siege mentality behind the fans, who have been brilliant in supporting the team and the club, and OKB will benefit from that. I don't think the fans who have committed so stoically to keeping the club alive in 2012 are at all likely to then not get a ticket for SL 2013. That's just IMHO, but that's certainly how I feel.
