At the other end of the scale I would have to name Nero and also Sherriffe who committed the schoolboy error of coming inside and leaving his opposite number a clear run in for his try.

Bit harsh on Sheriffe I think. He will be disappointed with his decision making for the try conceded but I thought he dealt well with the pressure applied to him by Wire. Two tough high kicks diffused in difficult conditions spring to mind.

Was Nero playing? I think he should change his name to AnonNeromous.

Bear in mind Sheriffe wasn't 100% either. Not trying to make excuses for him, but while the other players were doing the tackling part of the warm-up, Rikki was getting a massage on his upper leg. I know there's the whole "he shouldn't be playing if he's not fit" thing, but that may not have even been his call.

How many players travel? What, for example would have happened if Langley sick and then Rikki pulled up before the game? Do they take all 19 named in the squad so Crookes could step in? Or is it just tough?

Crookes could have stepped in easily as he warmed up as 18th man.
