I think we may scrape 8th luckily, my reason for that beacuse of the sheer lack of passion for the badge/club, also that we have no pace or creativity and that is what we need to be a top team.

Apart from Halley, who is one of the fastest in the league. Oh, and Platt, who also has genuine pace. Then there would be Sykes and Nero, who while not proper pace-men, would both compete with most of the fastest centres, Nero in particular used to have genuine centre pace and hasn't lost all that much with age.Both can and do go long distance. Hang on - what about Jeffries? He's about as fast as most if not all stand-offs. Then there would be Worrincy who is probably the fastest forward in the whole league. Mind you, Tadulala can't run. Can he? OH - fsck me, he's got genuine pace too! Silly me. We actually have two of the fastest wingers in SL!

I agree Halley is still quick but IMO he's lost a bit of pace he doesn't look as quick as he once was maybe it's a result of him trying to bulk up.

We make up for it by easily having the slowest half back in the league.



Our backs may have pace but i'd argue the skill levels shown by all of them is hardly what we need to be a really good team.

I'm not sure why you would bother making those comments when all I did was point out the absurdity of the claim we have "no pace".



The point is nothing to do with skill levels, either. Though I'd guess you need some to beat the Rhinos, and Saints away. The problem does though likely include failing to consistently produce the skill levels we have.



We won everything there is, and were one of the best teams in the country for several years, all with "the slowest halfback in the league", so it's hardly that.

Well on paper at the start of the year we should easily have been competing for 1-6, with a finish of around 4/5th. I still believe that if those players had applied themselves to the best of their ability then we would have finished up around there. But on 1st half of the season form, it is difficult to see us winning enough games to make any impression in the play offs.
